Chapter 9 by CandidBandit CandidBandit

What happens next? More Walking?

The Angel's Share

They made good time. They got to the crossroads in front of the bridge to the city while the sun was still up. It was closer to the horizon now, with the color red casting its dying glow over the walls and the water. Honestly, the view was quite spectacular.

The four of them were walking across the bridge now. At this time of day Timmie, the boy that hung out with some pigeons in the game, was nowhere to be seen. The stone bridge was mostly empty, except for a lone person who looked to be from the Adventurer’s guild heading into the city.

Just up ahead, the gate looked like it was just as un-busy as it was in the game too. That could potentially change during peak travel hours in the day, but right now there was only minimal foot traffic, i.e. that Adventurer dude.

{I can’t wait to find an Inn. I need to get off my feet and then get off with your dick.}

[Have to check with the Church for that contraceptive thing first. Don’t want to get pregnant yet, right?]

{Throat-fucking it is then. That feels pretty good too.}

[Sixty-nine all night long?]

{Yeeessss!}

While the married couple were flirting internally, Amber and Paimon were talking more about her old visit to this here fair city. Paimon was reminiscing about her visit to the market that was just on the other side of the gateway. Matt could see a portion of the inside of the city and what looked like a shop stall through the gate, but the view was more dominated by the gentle staircase with shop stores lining each side. At the top and the end, he could make out the top of a water fountain, but his sight got blurry at that distance.

Just at the entrance stood two guards keeping watch. The entrance itself was wide enough for five or six people to walk in side by side. As they got closer, the two guards called out greetings to Amber.

“Good evening, Amber! Any sightings out there today?” The guard on the left asked.

Amber turned and waved to him before saying, “There were heavy winds near the Whispering Woods, but I didn’t catch a glimpse. I’ll give my report to Jean soon.”

“Hard to tell if that was good or bad news. And who are these three?” The guard on the right asked.

“They’re travelers that I’m escorting to safety. Dragon or no dragon, the roads aren’t completely safe right now.” She informed them.

“All right then. As long as you bring no trouble here, we’ll welcome you with open arms, travelers.” The right-most guard said to them in a friendly manner.

“We’ll behave ourselves.” Aether told them with a smile. They smiled back and the four of them walked into the city.

They walked under the portcullis and looked upon the city’s market square. It was bigger than the game version with many more stalls selling produce and trinkets. However, since the day was winding down to a close, many had packed up their wares for the day. Aether looked down one street to the right and saw more stalls, both open for business still and those that were closed. To the left he saw the corner where the blacksmith had his forge. There were a few people over there cleaning and packing things away. Further down that road was the beginning of a residential area. Matt remembered that there was a house somewhere down there that had an elemental seal on its door and Mona, a five-star character with a ridiculous outfit, was able to unlock it in the game.

Up the central stairs they could see various high-end stores plus what looked like the Adventurers guild front. It was a store front manned by a woman that handed out commissions and handled rewards and payments for guild members. Their proper HQ was higher up the island though.

“Let me officially welcome you to the city of wind, dandelions and freedom,” Amber said, turning to them with her hand on her chest in an earnest display. “Travelers under the protection of the Knights of Favonius. Welcome to Mondstadt.”

“Hehe, we get to sleep in a bed tonight. No more camping outdoors!” Paimon excitedly whispered to Lumine. She looked around at the place with the few people around and her excitement turned into concern. “But... the city folk don’t look to cheery.”

“Everyone’s been put out of place by Stormterror recently. The attacks have been weighing on everyone’s minds.” Amber explained with some somber feeling. Then she perked up and planted her fists on her hips. “But everything will turn out fine as long as Jean’s with us!”

“Jean?” Paimon asked. “You mentioned that name at the gate.”

“Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. Jean, defender of Mondstadt.” Amber explained with pride. “With Jean on our side, surely even the vicious Stormterror will be no match for us.”

“Sounds like someone impressive.” Aether said.

“She is. She’s the strongest one in all of Mondstadt here currently.” Amber nodded emphatically. She then looked up to the evening sky. “Though, it looks like you won’t be able to meet her today.”

“It is pretty late.” Lumine said before yawning to punctuate her point.

“That’s fine. I’ll help you get a room at an Inn tonight.” Amber offered.

“Ah, but we don’t exactly have the money, sadly.” Aether said with apology lacing his tone.

“Oh, hmm... Well, you helped me with my mission. So, this night is on me.” Amber told them with a dependable smile. “Though, you might want to figure out how to make money tomorrow. My pockets aren’t exactly deep.”

“No, no. One night is plenty. We couldn’t impose more than that.” Aether assured her.

They made the decision to find a place to sleep and set off down the right-most road. They walked past stalls lining the street and people taking a stroll in the evening light.

“The Angel’s Share has rooms most of the time, though... because of the dragon attacks people have been taking refuge behind the city walls. But we’ll check there first, just in case.” Amber explained.

{This event didn’t happen in the game.} Jen whispered into Matt’s head. {Things happened a little more quickly with meeting Jean and then the flight lesson and then Stormterror attacking.}

[Yeah. The main character never needed to sleep at an Inn here in Mondstadt either. This seems like another realistic spin on things.]

They walked through the streets and found that backstreet square that was near the Angel’s Share. There looked to be some store fronts here too with some outdoor seating. The place was mostly empty at the moment. Their group walked some more and took a turn past a corner. In a larger section, close to the defensive wall of the city, stood a big building, bigger than the game counterpart.

The Angel’s Share’s windows were lit up from within, showing that it was still doing business. Considering that it mostly sold drinks, of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic kind, then it made sense that they would still be open. The place had three stories and an attic space and was wider than the building the married couple had seen in the video game. So, they clearly had space for rooms to let.

Amber went ahead and opened the door, letting the warm light spill out from inside. She stepped inside and the others followed with Aether closing the door behind them. The interior looked much the same as they remembered, but larger and with more seating. The depression in the ground with the bar was still there. Short steps led into the common area to the left and strong wooden pillars held up the second floor with its open floor plan and a chandelier hanging from the middle. The warm light from the lamp fixtures gave the place a cozy feeling. Paintings and portraits and other knick-knacks were on display along the walls giving the whole building a lived-in vibe. It was all quite homely.

The group of four approached the bar where a man, who Matt knew to be Charles, stood behind the rich and smooth wooden counter. He was a tall man of middle years with brown hair swept to one side and a matching beard and mustache. He wore a short sleeved white shirt and a dark brown vest along with dark pants and gloves of the same dark brown as his vest. He was wiping a glass with a clean cloth, as bartenders are often seen doing.

“Good evening, Charles.” Amber greeted the man cheerfully.

“Ah, Amber. It’s been a while. And you brought some friends. Special occasion?” He asked, somewhat surprised to see her.

“No, well... sort of. I met these travelers on the road through the Whispering Woods. This is Lumine, Aether and Paimon.” She introduced them to the man.

“Welcome. Take a seat anywhere.” Charles said, thinking they were there for a drink.

“Actually, we were wondering if you had any rooms available. I wanted to help them get set up for the night.” Amber explained.

“Oh, I see. Let me take a look.” Charles said and turned to a draw in the back. He pulled it open and took out a ledger and rifled through it. He tapped something on a page then looked up to the wall that had a board with hooks on them. Two keys were hanging from two hooks. “There are only two available at the moment, but if the two ladies don’t mind sharing...?”

He turned to look at Lumine and Paimon questioningly.

“Well... Aether and I are married, so we would like to share a room in most cases.” Lumine pointed to Aether and herself. “What do you think Paimon? Want a room to yourself or do you want to bunk with me? Are the rooms big enough for three people?” She abruptly asked Charles.

“The rooms do have two beds each...” He said with a little hesitation.

“Plus, we don’t want to take too much of Amber’s money.” Lumine said last, glancing to Amber herself.

“Well, if it’s just for one night...” She smiled sheepishly, thinking about the cost of two rooms versus one.

“And we have camped together already.” Aether added, referring to the two nights they had spent together under the stars.

“Ah... uh... I suppose that’s fine, yeah.” Paimon said, feeling a little embarrassed for obvious reasons. Sleeping it rough in the outdoors was one thing. Sleeping in the same room with closed doors was another.

“Alright then. One room it is.” Charles declared and pulled a key off the wall. He took the ledger and brought it over to the bar table. “Please fill in these details. And Amber, the price for one room, plus dinner and access to the baths, is...”

Amber and Charles talked money while Aether filled in the details in the ledger. Three guests, one room for one night. Amber handed over some Mora, the coins in this world, and the transaction was complete.

“Thank you again, Amber. We’ll definitely pay you back.” Lumine told the brunette.

“No, you don’t have to worry about that.” She responded, but the two went back and forth for a short while, each insisting on paying back what they owed or waving off the cost.

Meanwhile, Charles handed the key over to Aether with a nod. He also leaned in and spoke in a hushed tone. “There are other guests here, so try to keep any noise to a minimum, please?”

Matt was slightly taken aback at the implications behind the quiet warning. Did he really think that Aether and Lumine would bang while there was a third person in the room? Did he think that Aether didn’t have the restraint to hold back under the circumstances?

To be fair, both Matt and Jen wanted to fuck Paimon at some point, but that was beside the point. There was no way Charles could have known that that was a likely thing to happen.

“Sure...” Aether replied. What else could he have said?

“Also, dinner is being made in the back as we speak, but it likely won't be ready for another hour. Would you like to take a bath before dinner?” Charles asked in a more normal volume.

“Yes please, if that’s not too much trouble.”

“It’s quite alright.”

The two men sorted out the details just as the women finally decided on whether or not they had to pay Amber back. Amber would get her Mora back once the trio figured out how to make money. Which would very likely be through Adventurer Guild quests.

“We’ll be having a bath before dinner.” Aether told his wife and Paimon when the women turned back to the conversation.

“Finally. I swear I can smell myself after two days.” Lumine said with relief. The sentiment was shared by Paimon and Aether. Charles just laughed politely, and Amber smiled, likely knowing what it was like to not bathe for days at a time with her line of work.

“Since everything is sorted, I should be heading off. I still need to report in.” Amber said, letting everyone know she was heading off.

“Thanks again, Amber. Will we see you tomorrow? Or will you be busy?” Aether asked.

“I’ll try and come by in the morning. Though, Outriders can get up very early.” She warned.

“Then... maybe at another point.” Aether said with a sheepish grin.

Amber giggled and backed away a couple steps. “I’ll see you all when I see you. And welcome to Mondstadt.”

“See you!” Lumine called out.

“Bye bye, Amber!” Paimon followed suit energetically.

The cute brunette Outrider for the Knights of Favonius reached the door and waved one last time before taking her leave.

{I love that butt.}

Aether gave his wife a look before turning back to Charles.

“We’d like that bath, please.”

“Right this way.”

---Waifu---

Aether was led into a backroom through a corridor. Charles was guiding him past a couple other doors and into a room that resembled a changing room. Lumine and Paimon were led to a different area by a barmaid that was employed here.

“You can get undressed here,” Charles said, pointing to a stall with a swinging door. “The towels and robes are here in this cabinet, and this hamper is for the ones you have used.”

They then moved to the other end of the room with an entrance into an area with four large tubs lined up in a row and with half walls separating them from view. There wasn’t that much privacy, but just enough to not feel too self-conscious.

“These are the tubs.” Charles said, sweeping his hands at the porcelain containers. “Just turn the knobs and adjust for your preferred temperature. There’s soap and oils for your hair in this cupboard. Any questions?”

After pointing at a cupboard off to the side, Charles turned to Aether. He didn’t have any questions. It all looked quite straight forward. He told Charles as much and he was left to get on with his business.

He got undressed and put on a robe and prepared a couple towels. Aether then checked the soap cupboard and took a bar of soap and looked over the hair products. He now had a braided ponytail in this world, so he needed to be more conscious of how to take care of it. His hair was even longer than his wife’s now.

After asking her for some advice, sending thoughts and sharing his sight with her, he picked a bottle and got to work. Some minutes later found him lying back in a tub and sinking into the almost scalding water. Lumine also shared her sight with him, allowing him to see Paimon naked. He shook his head wryly and lay back to relax despite the exciting view.

---Waifu---

Almost half an hour later, the trio had finished their baths and were now in their shared room. Paimon was lying down on a bed holding her stomach.

“I’m huuuungry...” She groaned to herself.

Dinner wasn’t ready yet so they were relaxing in their room. Also, Lumine was trying her best to braid Aether’s hair exactly the way it was when they arrived in this world. He was sitting on the edge of their bed with her kneeling behind him concentrating.

“Soon, Paimon. Soon.” Aether said.

“Sooner, please.” She muttered.

He laughed quietly along with his wife.

Lumine ran her fingers through Aether’s golden locks and divided it all into sections, twisting them around in a way that Aether had no idea how to replicate. He had much shorter hair in his previous life so this was a new experience for him.

“You know, I’m actually kinda jealous of you.” His wife whispered with a little pout in her voice. “Your hair is so silky now. My husband has better hair than me? Ridiculous.”

He laughed at her childish muttering.

“You have lovely hair too. I love the short cut with the long sides.” He told her. He reached back over his shoulder to feel her new head of hair and stroked the soft fibers. Lumine hummed, enjoying his touch.

They passed the time like that. She eventually finished braiding his hair and they cuddled for a time until dinner was ready.

---Waifu---

Around the appointed time, the three travelers made their way downstairs. The trio enjoyed a hearty dinner, savoring the flavors of Mondstadt's cuisine. Paimon's hunger was finally satisfied, and she leaned back in her chair with a contented sigh.

"That was amazing," she said, patting her stomach.

Lumine and Aether exchanged smiles, feeling the same way. The warmth of the meal and the cozy atmosphere of the Angel's Share made them feel at ease.

"So, what's the plan for tomorrow?" Paimon asked, looking between Aether and Lumine.

"We should probably check in with the Adventurers' Guild," Aether suggested. "See if there are any jobs we can take to make some money."

Lumine nodded in agreement. "And maybe we can just explore. Take in the sights."

Paimon's eyes widened with excitement. "Ooh, that sounds like a plan! I can't wait to explore more of Mondstadt too. It’s been a while since I was last here."

Aether chuckled. "Just don't wander off too far without us, okay?"

Paimon grinned. "Deal."

After dinner, they retired to their room, feeling the weight of the day's journey. Paimon climbed into her bed, yawning widely.

"Goodnight, you two," she murmured, already half-asleep.

Aether and Lumine shared a look. With Paimon moments away from sleeping, and with all three of them safe and sound and finally able to sleep in a bed for the night, it was about time to give Jen what she was waiting for. She had given her husband a blowjob all the way back at the mountain pass, and despite enjoying that herself, it wasn’t quite like the real thing.

She was now giving him that look he knew all too well. Even with this new altered face, he could recognize the need. The arousal and that needy look pulled at him. He smirked at her and kissed her lips, receiving just a hint of her need from her tongue. She pulled at him and smacked her lips against his. Then she quickly parted, her breath shuddering as she whispered...

“Sixty-niiiiine~”
