Where does Ordok go to take advantage of his newest transaction method?

The Adventurer's Guild

Chapter 4 by FreakyFreak

Ordok strode into the guild hall like he owned the place. Hell, maybe he did! Either way, he made his way straight to the clerk at the counter, a thin elf. "How much for everyone's loot?" He asked, straight to the point. The elf raised a delicate brow, looking down their long nose at him. "The guild does not possess individual's loot items. We only have the money we pay them for completing quests." She said like he was stupid. He frowned, and looked behind him at the common area. There was only a few people.

He stomped up to the first one, a towering goliath woman. "Got any loot to sell?" He asked. "I wish. Can't follow directions for my life, though. Need a party. Interested?" She asked, bored. "Nah, I ain't no stinking adventurer." He waved her off, and the went to the next.

This one was a slim human woman, looking nervous. "Any loot?" He asked gruffly. She startled at his approach, clutching her wooden staff tighter. "N-No, I'm not strong enough to clear a dungeon on my own." She said. He groaned loudly, and trudged over to the last two people.

A young human fighter and an elf with a tome in hand. "Do you two fuckers have anything I could buy off of ya's, or are you too weak to actually adventure like everyone else?" He asked, annoyed. The young man spoke for the both of them. "W-Well, we probably could adventure, just the two of us. But... we're worried something will go wrong. We were hoping to wait for some stronger adventurers to come back and maybe sign us on." He told the hobgoblin.

Ordok stared at him with incredulity. At the other two he had spoken to as well. "So all the rich adventurers are out on quests? And ye don't have the power to follow after 'em?" He asked as clarification. They nodded. "Oh my fucking god..." He grumbled under his breath. "Alright, listen up!" He raised his voice, addressing all four hopeless bums. "I want loot, y'all want... uh... y'know, to quest... and ... whatever. How about we's form a party for ourselves? At the very least, we won't have to wait for the others to get back. We could track them down, prove your worths, and maybe they'll let you join them hereforth and such. Sound good?" He asked, rubbing his head to abate the headache. The four of them all looked at each other, unsure,.

"A fighter, a wizard, a cleric, a barbarian, and what, another wizard?" The goliath summed up, posing her question at Ordok. "Huh? What makes you think that?" He grunted at her. "Your tome? Ain't that what wizards cast their spells from?" She said, gesturing to the Book of Rules he held. He glanced at the wizard chick. She was holding a tome like him. He shrugged. "Yeah, yeah yous right. Bit of a... niche magic though, so don't be depending on my abilities, ya hear?" He bluffed. They gave their understanding. "Alright, perfect. Let's go get us some quests." The fighter said. Ordok grunted and led the way. It wasn't what he planned, but it might just prove more effective.
