The Actual Test

John took the cheap IPAs to the counter and set them down. The manager looked down at the **** and then looked at John.

“You don’t look 21 I’m gonna need to see some ID kid.” Said the manager with a stern growl

John focused through the ring and said “Don’t you remember you just saw my ID.”

The manager’s brow furrowed. “Well I may have seen your ID but you aren’t 21. So I’m gonna have to put this back.” The grumpy manager grabbed the handle of the six pack.

John had to think quick it seemed he had to go more advanced with what memory he said. “Ummm…. You just saw my ID and it said I was 21 yesterday was my birthday.” John was lying through his teeth but he believed in the power of the ring.

The manager took his hand off the six pack. “Oh yes of course happy birthday already getting started with liquor so soon.” He then rang up the IPAs.

John made his way out of the store having confirmed the ring did work. He just had to specify what he wanted to implant. But did he really need to speak it out loud? That could really hinder him especially if others are around.

John just had to run more tests but first he needed to find a prettier test subject. He was unsure with himself if he wanted to wait for school or just run off to the park.
