The 2004 Punisher film, with some big changes.

Frank Castle knows the trouble they have found and tries to get his family out of it, but the two sons of Howard Costa are quite cruel, and as Frank Castle watches they brutally execute his wife and two children.

Castle breaks free and kills one of the mob boss’s sons, but is then struck down in a hail of gunfire, being shot numerous times.

This leads to Frank Castle being hospitalized but surviving, and when he gets out of the hospital he finds out that his entire family was murdered by assassins sent by Howard Costa. This drives him nearly insane with a desire for vengeance.

Frank Castle has friends in law enforcement and finds out that Howard Costa is protected, paid up with the right people and that the case has officially gone cold with a made up theory that it was a **** cartel hit as the most likely thing that happened.

With law enforcement and the justice system corrupt, Castle creates the Punisher identity to punish not just the crime family that killed his own family, but all that are corrupt in the world.

He starts with investigating Howard Costa to find his weaknesses, and he finds that the mafia boss is quite the doting father to his teenaged daughter, and obsessively protects his stunning wife.
