That's just common sense.

"The College's knowledge on all things arcane is unsurpassed," Aaralon offers in reply, "Whereas I like to test and experience things myself, certainly before passing judgement on them, it seems that demons will be the important and notable exception. Some things are just too dangerous to experiment with. That's just common sense."

A second woman spoke from behind him, "A diplomatic answer." It was Carrie; she had silently let herself into Camila's tent. How long had she been there for? "Aaralon? Are you ready to leave? I need just a few minutes to talk to Camila alone and we'll be making for the Whispering Woods after that. Be sure you're ready to travel by then."

Nodding respectfully Aaralon exited Camila's tent.

Get ready to travel? He had slept in a magically summoned tent and barely had a thing with him. He was ready to travel already. That wasn't the point though, the interesting thing is that Carrie had reason to talk quietly to Camila and that he was not supposed to overhear. This rescue mission was quickly becoming something very much more complex. But what? What was going on here?

Aaralon considered his options. He could risk eavesdropping on Camila's tent; not magically, these two expert mages were sure to notice but he could try it the stealthily way. He could strike off on his own and go ahead to the Whispering Woods. A risky choice as he would need to rescue the girl on his own and come up with a good excuse for doing so or else face serious trouble. He could just go back to the College or even try and catch up with the sexy elf twins. Sex. He had imagined there would be a lot more sex involved in his first trip outside of the College in months. Well; there had been that incident last night - did that count? Was that a dream? If not - what on earth had happened?

It might be best to wait for Camila and Carrie and head off towards the Whispering Woods with them. He needed to find a "virgin's last gasp" too.
