Backstory & Origin of Powers

In the year 1185, during the Battle of Dan-no-ura, Aiko was a female onna-bugeisha (woman warrior) fighting for the Taira clan. As the fleet sank, she clutched her broken naginata and swore to the storm god Susanoo that she would protect Japan’s seas from any ****—human or divine—that sought to drown its spirit.

Susanoo answered. He fused her soul with the heart of a typhoon and the iron will of the ocean’s depths. Aiko died that day… but awoke as the eternal Storm Samurai. Her ghost ship, Kurofune no Arashi (Black Ship of the Storm), now sails only when Japan’s waters are threatened—by pirates, kaiju, foreign invaders, or even gods who overstep.

She has guarded Japan’s coast for over 800 years, unseen by history books but whispered in sailors’ tales as "The Lady of the Black Tempest."

1. Typhoon Command (Arashi no Te):
