Chapter 36 by Levantin Levantin

The walk home felt like a march to the scaffold.

My sneakers shuffled against the asphalt, my head pounded, and every single step served as a dull, chafing reminder of what Emma had seen in the art room. She knew. And by now, she was almost certainly sitting in front of her phone or laptop, typing in the search terms and piecing together, bit by bit, exactly what that black cylinder on my body meant.

When I slid the key into the lock of our third-floor apartment in the large residential building, my hand was trembling. The spacious hallway smelled of fresh lavender cleaner—Arisa, the cleaning lady, had been in today, leaving everything polished to a high sheen. My father was still at work as usual, his return before late evening out of the question. Absolute silence.

*I have to tell her*, the thought hammered against my skull as I kicked off my shoes. Panic tightened around my throat like a noose. Loona was cruel, unyielding, and demanded my total submission—yet her control came with a clear purpose. She owned me, and in that ownership lay a twisted, comforting certainty. If I confessed that Emma had a video and now knew about the cage, Loona would be furious. She might punish me, handle me even more roughly. But she would never allow some random girl from my class to stake a claim on her toy. She would crush Emma.

*But what if she cuts me loose?*, the other voice whispered, cold and venomous. What if she despised me for humiliating myself so pathetically in front of Emma? What if she took the key, threw it away right before my eyes, and abandoned me to the mockery of the entire school?

“You’re late, sweetheart.”

The cool voice drifted from the open living area.

Loona was leaning against the kitchen counter, and the sight of her stole the breath right out of my lungs. She was wearing a tiny black pleated skirt, over-the-knee socks that stopped just short of her mid-thigh, and a tight, cropped top that accentuated her flat stomach and waist. Around her neck, the delicate silver chain gleamed with the small brass padlock key.

My heart skipped. Blood rushed into my cheeks instantly and surged down into my groin. My cock pushed with brutal force against the bars of the casing.

“I’m sorry,” I forced out, walking slowly toward her, keeping my gaze submissively trained on her legs. “Julian held me up for a minute.”

*Tell her. Tell her now.* The words sat on the tip of my tongue, burning like acid. *Loona, Emma is blackmailing me. She knows about the cage.*

Yet as I stood before her and she tilted her head, my voice failed me entirely. Her dark eyes appraised me with that condescending sharpness that made me tremble and melt with desire all at once.

“You’re pale as a ghost,” she observed, stepping closer and resting two cool fingertips beneath my chin, tilting my face up. “And you look completely wrecked. Show me your phone.”

With clumsy fingers, I handed it over. She skimmed the step-tracking app and slipped the phone into her pocket.

“Eighteen hundred steps short of your daily goal,” she murmured. She studied the heavy shadows under my eyes, the sheen of sweat on my forehead, and my slight tremor. Her gaze softened by a fraction, turning almost caring in that dark, possessive way of hers. She wanted to break me, yes, but not destroy me—she was molding me into something better, into her perfect, resilient toy. “Still, you held up remarkably well all week. I’ll let the rest slide for today. Can’t have you collapsing on me.”

She pointed an index finger at the floor in front of her. “On your knees.”

I sank onto the light hardwood instantly. My knees met the wood, and as Loona reached out her hand, I finally let myself carefully wrap my arms around her stocking-clad thighs. The soft knit under my palms, the warmth of her skin—I pressed my cheek against her fabric and let out a shaky breath. A massive wave of relief washed over me.

Loona allowed it. With slow, gentle motions, her manicured nails combed through my hair, scratching the back of my neck and working the tight muscles at the base of my skull.

“Good boy,” she murmured softly. “Easy now. You belong to me, remember? Pants down.”

I released her legs, trembling as I unbuckled my belt and pushed my jeans and boxers down. The black resin casing strained to the bursting point, the skin along the edges irritated from days of torture.

Loona leaned down, caught the chain around her neck, and held the small, gleaming piece of brass just inches from the cylinder.

“You spent the entire week thinking of nothing but this key, didn't you? My promise for the weekend.”

“Yes… please, Loona…,” I whimpered softly, my face hovering near her knees. Every secret, every ounce of dread regarding Emma dissolved in that single, searing moment. I only wanted to belong to her. Only wanted her release.

“Tonight,” she whispered, letting the key fall back onto her chest with a faint clink. “After dinner. Once you massage me and—”

The shrill, piercing buzz of the intercom shattered the apartment's silence.

I froze mid-breath. The blood drained from my face in an instant.

Two rings in rapid succession. Short, demanding, persistent. Someone was standing downstairs at the front door of the apartment building.

Loona knitted her brows in annoyance, pulled her hand from my hair, and straightened up. “Who the hell is that now?”

She stepped over to the wall beside the front door, where the small video monitor of the intercom system flickered to life.

My stomach plummeted through the floor. From my spot on the ground, I could see the camera feed by the building's entrance clearly: standing outside was a girl in a beige coat, her chin tilted up defiantly, one hand pressed impatiently against the buzzer.

Emma.

My breath stopped entirely. My pants were still pooled around my ankles, the black resin casing exposed in the hallway light, while the little monitor on the wall displayed the face of my ruin.

Emma hadn't wasted a single second. She had researched, understood, and come here to claim her prize.

Loona stared at the flickering black-and-white feed with narrowed eyes. Her gaze dropped from the girl in the coat down to me, huddled like a broken mess on the floor, trembling, my skin gray.

“Do you know her?” she asked coldly. There was no hesitation in her voice, only razor-sharp calculation. She instantly caught how the color had fled from my lips. “John. Who is that?”

“That’s… that’s Emma,” I croaked out, every muscle in my body seizing up. “From my grade.”

The buzzer sounded again, longer this time, more insistent.

Loona didn't reach for the receiver. She slowly folded her arms across her chest, leaned her shoulder against the wall next to the intercom, and looked down at me. The gentle hand through my hair from moments ago was completely gone; her expression hardened, calculating and ruthless.

“And why is a girl from your grade standing uninvited at our building, leaning on the bell?” she pressed, her voice dangerously calm. “Is there something you need to tell me?”

The moment of truth had arrived. The lie died in my throat before I could even shape it. If I stayed silent now and Emma opened her mouth outside the door, I was completely finished.

“She… she was in the art room today,” I stammered, tears of sheer panic burning at the corners of my eyes as I clawed my fingers into the wood floor. “She grabbed me. Through my pants. She felt the cage… and forced me to show her the lock. She has a video of me, Loona. From last week at her place. She’s blackmailing me.”

The words dropped between us like heavy stones.

For a long, agonizing moment, absolute silence ruled the apartment. I braced for an explosion, a kick to my ribs, the ultimate humiliation. But Loona didn't move. Not a single muscle in her face twitched.

Her dark eyes simply narrowed into slits. A slow, malicious smile curled her lips—not angry with me, but amused, fascinated by the sheer audacity of an outsider daring to trespass on her territory.

“So, she's blackmailing you,” Loona murmured, her fingers drifting idly to the neckline of her top, brushing the chain with the small brass key. “And now she’s looked up online what that toy down there is used for, and came to collect the key. Probably assumes you’ve got it hidden in your desk drawer.”

She let out a quiet, throaty laugh that sent a shiver down my spine.

In one fluid motion, she pressed the button for the front-door buzzer. The loud hum of the building entrance resonated up through the speaker.

“Pants up, John,” she ordered in a calm, unyielding voice. “Leave the belt unbuckled. And then you go stand behind me in the kitchen. Don't you dare say a single word.”

She walked to the apartment door, unlocked the deadbolt, and pulled the heavy wood open a crack. The distant click of heels echoing up the stairwell announced that Emma was climbing the steps—dead set on becoming the new ruler of my life, without the slightest clue whose threshold she was about to cross.
