Tension and Resolution

Exiting the elevator, you found yourself once again in front of Lexi’s office. Her secretary acknowledged you, and simply waved you both in.

Morgana once again took the initiative to lead you, and you had this internal feeling that she was mentally preparing herself for battle.

“James! Welcome back!”

Lexi was jubilant at seeing you again, but you noticed her face contort for a moment when she spotted Morgana. Unlike yesterday, she stayed seated at her large mahogany desk as you entered. You felt a bit relieved, as you weren’t sure what kind of response another pounce on you would cause in Morgana. Despite your relief, the room had an air of tension.

“You must be Morgana. How nice to meet the slimy homewrecker in person.”

Lexi made the challenging statement with a sickeningly sweet smile on her doll-like face. You flinched, anticipating a storm from Morgana. Surprisingly, she smiled as well.

“My my. Is this the famous Auntie Lexi? Such a big office and station for such a little devil. It’s so nice to see you as well. I’m sorry our meeting had to be under these circumstances. It must be quite frustrating to have to watch as someone else takes in a few days what you could not manage to get in thirty years.”

Morgana’s eyes flashed a look of utter superiority as she purposely mashed her body closer against you.

Lexi’s look turned hostile, and you could see her forked tail twitch in anger.

“You bitch…”, she muttered, standing up and hitting her palms on the desk.

Before things got further out of hand, you decided to speak up.

“Alright enough. We’re here to get Morgana registered, not to start a fight. Lexi. Morgana, quit making things difficult.”

You tried to sound as authoritative as possible.

Morgana shrugged.

“As you wish, my pet.”

“Fine," Lexi conceded.

The devil girl sat back down and crossed her arms in frustration.

“Don’t forget that we are also here for you to sign your contract with me," she added. “I’ve got everything set up for her registration, but remember that we made a deal.”

Morgana let out a mocking laugh.

“That’s right, Darling. Auntie Lexi has to use extortion to get a suitable mate.”

“At least I didn’t have to latch onto him like some sort of parasite!” Lexi retorted. “James, perhaps a shot of penicillin will rid you of this sexually transmitted disease.”

Morgana seethed, and you could see her tendrils begin to writhe in anger. Both women began to move toward each other as if ready to brawl right then and there. Why was there so much animosity? They were acting like they’ve hated each other forever.

You had to do something.

“ENOUGH!”, you roared, standing in between them.

Both Morgana and Lexi looked shocked for a moment by the harshness of your tone. The stress of the situation had begun to boil over in you, and you knew you needed to get this mess under control now.

“Listen closely, the both of you. Like it or not, this is the situation we are in. I didn’t ask for Morgana to find me, but she did. I…I’m happy she did, truly. She is not a parasite. She is an extraordinary being who has made me finally feel like life is worth living again. Even in such a short time, I know that I care about her and want to be with her.”

You looked at Morgana with a serious face.

“At the same time, I’m grateful to you Lexi for helping us out with this process. You’ve always been good to me my whole life. Regardless of your intentions in getting close to me, I consider you to be someone special. If being with you is the price of making sure Morgana is safe, then I have no problem with that. I don’t consider it extortion. It’s an agreement and not a hard choice since I care about you as well.”

Lexi looked at you with a flushed and embarrassed face.

“The point is that I am choosing this situation. I am choosing to be Morgana’s partner, and I am choosing to sign the contract with Lexi. I’m not listening to any more arguing, or I will walk away from both of you right now. Like it or not, you two will be seeing a lot of each other, and I want both of you to give me your word that you will do your best to get along.”

You let your words hang in the air for a few minutes. It was a bluff if you were honest. You had no intentions of walking out, but you needed them to get along.

“Well?”

Lexi was the first to speak up, throwing her hands up in the air like it was no big deal.

“I promise to try and get along. I mean, I’m getting what I want anyway. I was never opposed to you having multiple wives in the first place.”

You nodded and looked over to Morgana.

The slime woman regarded you with a hungry expression. She sauntered up and placed a hand on your chest. She lifted one leg slightly to rub her thigh against you.

“How could I deny you when you proclaim your devotion in such a manly tone?”

Her voice was honey as she traced a finger along your jaw.

“Fine. Since this is what you desire, I will try and get along with this devil.”

You let out a sigh of relief. The last thing you needed was a fight breaking out in the middle of AWIO.

“Well, I guess since that’s out of the way, let's get down to the paperwork, shall we?” Lexi gestured towards the files on her desk and motioned for you both to be seated.

The paperwork was pretty standard fare from what you could tell. It registered Morgana with the AWIO as a basic slime girl just like Lexi had pitched. You and Morgana both filled out the agreement stating you both wanted to enter a relationship as monster girl and sponsor, and you signed an additional set of forms which dictated your responsibilities following sponsorship. This included agreeing to scheduled progress visits from an AWIO case manager.

“So, do you know who will be managing Morgana’s case? I’m worried that someone might become suspicious if they get too nosey.” You asked.

“Oh, don’t worry about that, James. I already arranged it so that I would be put in charge of Morgana’s case. It kills two birds with one stone, really. We can keep our little secret safe, and it gives me an excuse to see my future husband.”

Lexi gave you a playful wink, and you felt Morgana tense for a moment.

“That brings me to the final piece of our meeting. You and I have a contract to sign.”

Lexi brandished a weathered looking piece of parchment. Compared to the common xerox paper of the AWIO paperwork, it was obvious that this was something special.

“This is a devil’s contract. By signing it, you agree to all the terms. Failure to meet your end of the conditions will result in the forfeiture of your life.”

Lexi’s eyes gleamed with a sinister glow.

“Am I allowed to read through it first?”

“Of course.”

You read through the document carefully. You weren’t a lawyer by any means, but you had seen your fair share of contracts while working as an engineer. The language was surprisingly simple, and it did not appear that Lexi had added any nasty clauses that might come back to haunt you later. Simply stated, you were to add her to your harem within one year of the signing date. “Seeing as I am now officially Jim’s partner, I think that I should have a say in anything he decides to sign, don’t you?”

Morgana gave Lexi a challenging look, which Lexi returned.

“I’m not saying that I won’t allow my pet to sign your agreement, but I’d like my own piece added. I want it recognized in the contract that I am his first partner, and that your official admittance is contingent on my approval. What I mean is, if you want to join our family, you’ll need to ask me first.”

“WHAT?! No way am I going to agree to that!” Lexi shouted while slamming her petite hands on the desktop.

“I’m afraid that’s the only way. Jim belongs to me. He is mine. If you want to use what belongs to me, of course you would need permission first.”

Lexi’s face was visibly frustrated.

“That’s not what we agreed to. I did my end, now you do yours, Jim.”

Her voice was pleading with you.

Morgana moved around the desk and positioned herself behind Lexi. She placed her hands on Lexi’s shoulders, making the small devil flinch. Morgana lowered her head and began speaking close to Lexi’s ear.

“I never said I’d make it difficult for you.”, she purred. Almost instantly, you saw a shift in Lexi’s demeanor.

“I just want you to understand your position in this relationship. Jim may be mine, but I don’t mind sharing him with good girls who listen.”

Lexi waved her hand, and the contract glowed and changed. At once, the provisions were altered. Morgana looked at you with a mischievous grin.

“Is everything in order, my pet?”

“Y-yeah. It looks like she added what you wanted.”

“Then if you are set, go ahead and sign.”

You took the pen on the desk and signed the contract. Once complete, the paper vanished.

“Now, then.”, Morgana continued. “I think it’s time to celebrate.”
