Tell Lord Gilbert about your dream

You couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. That dream you had about that demon woman was the only thing going through your head. You needed to tell someone about it, but you knew the court wouldn't believe you. There's only one person you trust and that was Lord Gilbert.

Morning finally came and you see lord Gilbert talking to one of the court members. "Lord Gilbert, may I speak with you privately?" Lord Gilbert sees your tried eyes and nods.

Lord Gilbert looked at the man. "We'll finish this conversation later." You and Lord Gilbert enter your chamber. "Are you ok your majesty? You look very tired."

You sigh. "Lord Gilbert, can I trust you to listen to what I have to say?" Lord Gilbert smiles and nods.

You tell Lord Gilbert about the dream. He doesn't seem convinced, at first. "Hilda Hellsin? Your majesty, the demon Hellsin is just a story."

"It can't be a story, how do you explain this?" You reach into your pocket and pull out the amulet. Lord Gilbert looks at it closely and seems very surprised. "Do you believe me now?"

"This is very surprising, there's writing on here in a language I've never seen before." Lord Gilbert stops and thinks for a bit. "I'll have Lady Vessa take a look at this. She knows more about theses things."

You nod and see Lord Gilbert leave with the amulet.

The court went on for hours and was just as uneventful as it was yesterday. Your lack of sleep made staying awake much more difficult. Lady Vessa was the only one absent due to needing to study the amulet. Suddenly the doors slam open and you see Lady Vessa rushing in.

"My king, you must come with me. It's urgent." You've never seen Lady Vessa be this panicked before. You look at Lord Gilbert and he nods. You follow Lady Vessa to her chamber and shut the door.

Vessa picks up the amulet from her desk and shows it to you. "Please tell who gave you this."

"It was a demon in my dreams named Hilda Hellsin." Vessa turns pale and almost loses her balance before you catch her.

"This can't be happening. The seal was supposed to last longer then that." Vessa said as she breathed heavily.

You look at your court mage with a confused look. "How do you know about the seal?"

Vessa sighs. "You know in the story that powerful mages sealed away the demon?" You nod. "Well... one of them was my mother. She used all her magic to seal King Hellsin away but the seal was supposed to last longer."

"You were alive back then?"

"I'm a half-elf, we live much longer then normal humans." Vessa looks at the amulet. "But that's not important right now. Tell me, this Hilda Hellsin said the seal would break in a year's time right?"

"Yes, and she wishes to duel me for the kingdom." You look at the amulet as well. "I don't know what to do. I've only been king for a few days and now I have to protect my people from a demon king."

"You did say that this Hilda wanted to do this peacefully right? Then I think you must agree to the duel."

You look at Vessa. "How can we trust that she is telling the truth?"

Vessa stands up and hands you the amulet. "This amulet doesn't have any enchantments on it. If she wanted to kill you she could have done it very easily." Vessa sits at her desk. "If we can hold off these demon, then their is a chance I can repair the seal."

"So I have to fight her." You look at your hands. "I've never dueled anyone, and demons at said to be very strong. How am I supposed to win against her?"

"Then we'll need you to train." Vessa stands up and opens a bird cage and ties a piece of paper to a dove. "I'll send for a sword master that trained many great warriors."

"What about you?" You ask as she releases the dove out her window. "Can't you just teach me some holy magic? I think it will be more effective against a demon."

"Learning magic of any kind takes years and even if I could teach you in a year's time, I have my own journey." You see her gathering some of stuff into a large sack. "I need to find other mages that can help me fix the seal."

"Ok, but the court needs to know about this and I know that they will believe you." Vessa nods.

You and Vessa return to the court and tell everyone about Hilda. While there was some back and forth, you and the court eventually agree to Lady Vessa's plan. You also send your spymaster Akina to assist and protect Vessa from harm. With everything in order you head to bed and slowly fall asleep and return to the empty void of your dream space where Hilda is waiting for your answer.
