Teleportation gone wrong

Having just defeated another one of Venjix's robotic soldiers, the power rangers returned to their base in the city of Corinth. There, they sought a little rest and relaxation after a hard fought battle.

"Well, that was an easy one!" Ziggy, the Green Ranger laughed, playing of the difficulty of their battle.

"Only because you spent most of the fight running away," Doctor k, their mentor and genius scientist, responded tersely. If ranger yellow wasn't there, you would have been done for.

"Oh, it's ok, doctor, k." Summer smiled,"it's not every day that I get to rescue a damsel in distress!"

"True now...hey..." Ziggy said as the other rangers laughed. His face turned red with embarrassment.

"Hey, I thought I was the only red ranger around here!" Chuckled Scott Truman, the leader and red ranger of their team.

"Alright, alright, knock it off, guys!" The defeated Ziggy relented.

"Yeah, leave him alone," Dillon, the grim Black Ranger, interrupted as he messed with Ziggy's hair.

"That fight was harder than anything Venjix has thrown at us recently." Flynn, the Scottish blue ranger, spoke. Suddenly, the tone changed as finally someone had brought up the unspoken elephant no one was talking about.

"You are correct, blue ranger." Doctor k responded, acknowledging the cold, hard facts of what they face.

"What do we do? Asked Scott, putting on his leader hat.

"I'm glad you asked Ranger Red," responded Doctor K. "If you'd all follow me to my lab, I think it's time that I share my research with you." Doctor k explains to the rangers that she'd been working on a way for all of them to teleport.

There was just one problem doing so would require lots of power. That's where Summer came in. Using her energy blasts, Doctor k hoped to boost Ziggy's teleport strength and allow others to be brought along. The plan required Summer to hit Ziggy right before he teleported.

The plan was simple enough with the only challenge being with the ranger who was able to teleport. Ziggy had never been great when it came to teleporting. Add in the thought of being hit with Summers energy blasts, and Ziggy was scared. It took a pep talk from Summer for him to agree to give it a go. Morphing into their ranger forms, Summer and Ziggy initiated the doctors plan.

Everything started fine at first. As Ziggy shouted teleport, Summer fired her beam directly at him. Causing the teleportation energy to ride through the beam directly back at her. It was working, Summer thought as Ziggy and her disappeared. The only problem was that when Ziggy reappeared, Summer was nowhere in sight. Only her morpher and clothes remained lying on the ground.

Where ever Summer was, she was without her morpher or her clothes. As the rangers looked at the discard jacket on the ground, they could only hope that Summer was alright.

(This story was inspired by cell gaze, and his story in power rangers EMF. I took the basic idea, which i liked and left it more open-ended, allowing for more creative freedom and ideas. I also tried to blend his words with mine as i liked some of his ranger dialog. I hope I did enough to make it feel like a different take without it feeling like a simple redo of his work)
