“Shepard, you’re supposed to be dead,” Tali pointed out. “Twice.”

“Fair point,” Shepard said.

Her eyes landed on an encrypted video it was highly encrypted with a password. With a hint: The planet where it all started.

Shepard typed in Therum.

A video began to play as Liara appeared. “Shepard… if you’re seeing this then it means that you’ve accessed the Shadow Broker server and you most likely have seen the video of myself and Vasir. I wish I could tell you everything. I wish I could protect you. But I’m afraid that my hands are tied as even I am not able to fight a Spectre with everything on you and believe my love, she has everything. Every private moment, every little secret. It was before I was the Shadow Broker… the yagh… he was much smarter than I could have ever predicted. When we defeated him, he had it set up so an encrypted file with everything on you would be sent to an agent of his. Vasir received it and approached me showing me the things she has on you. She has it ready to be sent to 1 billion reporters. So… I must handle this situation with the utmost care. Miranda and Ashley are the only ones who know. Ashley because she can get me access to the Spectre Terminal and Miranda because… well let’s face it she’s better than all of us at this kind of stuff. I’m telling all the others a lie in hopes that they’ll follow along. I know you’ll be mad. I know you’ll feel betrayed. But… this is bigger than all of us. If I have planned this all right, then Tali is probably there with you that contract she had submitted to the Migrant Fleet while funny isn’t remotely real, and yet that is going to be the key to making sure she stays on your side. I can’t risk her following along with my fake plans, it’d be a disaster if that happens. With the combinations of Tali and likely Legion and EDI, you should be able to hack into my server. Shepard stared as the screen went black. She sat down on the bed beside the terminal and put her face in her hands, she looked up at the ceiling. “Liara…” Shepard whispered. “You’re a genius.”
