Penny couldn't believe it. She'd been horrible, conceited and prideful, hurting Ellie in the process, and still the succubus had come searching for her, came running for her. It made the angelic woman's heart ache all the more for what Ellie'd had to suffer through due to Penny's pride. And yet, her heart trilled at seeing her beloved Ellie, even more so when the succubus jumped into Penny's arms, straddling the angel's lap, wings wrapping around her and hands cupping the angel's cheeks.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I pushed too hard, I thought I could me you see..." Ellie babbled along as she peppered Penny's face with kisses, tears rolling over her own cheeks. "Y-you were so convinced, and I didn't know what to do, b-but..."

In her confusion, Penny just slung her arms around Ellie's waist and let the kissing happen. Ellie was sorry? Why was she sorry? Penny had hurt the succubus, not the other way around! Why had life become so complicated ever since coming to Bay Cove? Things had been so much easier before... But her eyes had been opened to the truth. When she thought back, there had always been hints of doubt if she'd understood her new role correctly. There were no doubts in her now. She loved Ellie and would do anything to make her happy.

"No, I'm sorry, Ellie, I hurt you so much, I didn't understand, I didn't understand anything, I was so wrong... I... I love you, Ellie."

"I love you too!" Ellie squealed with happiness through her tears, throwing her arms around Penny's neck and planting her full lips on the angel's, forked tongue snaking into Penny's mouth to play with the angelic woman's own.

Realizing how much, deep down, she'd missed the taste of her lover, Penny sunk into the kiss, closing her eyes as she ran her hands over the soft skin of Ellie's back. The feathers of her wings rustled as the lovers hugged each other tightly, as if never wanting to let go.

Of course, every kiss has to end, even if it seemed like an eternity of bliss to Penny. But even when their lips parted, tingling and tasting of each other, Penny and Ellie stayed close, foreheads resting against each other's. As she gazed into Ellie's red eyes, the angelic woman knew with absolute certainty that this was what the Almighty had meant for her to be, for her to do - be Ellie's lover, do anything for the succubus' happiness. The Lord did not need Penny to spread his blessings; all He needed her to do was be there for Ellie. He had not given her a mission, he had given her a gift.

"I'm... so sorry, Ellie. I was so, so wrong," the angelic woman whispered, the others at the table completely forgotten. "Can you ever forgive me?"

"Of course, you silly angel!" Laughing happily, Ellie gave her lover a quick kiss on the lips. "Can you forgive me? For the thing with Linda? I just... I didn't know what else to do... you were so convinced, and no matter what I said..."

"Always, Ellie. I will always forgive you. After all, it was my own fault for forcing you in the first place." Penny smiled happily at her lover, feeling full of bliss. God truly was blessing her; not with a new body, but with a lover like Ellie. "I... ngh..."

There was a strange tingling at the base of the back of her neck, right where the angel's back began. Penny opened her mouth to say something, to explain something was happening, but before she could say anything, something burst from the tingling spots with a rustling of feathers, brushing against Ellie's arms as it grew. Penny could sense the soft breeze caress two new limbs, two new wings, but they only twitched as she tried to move them. And when she saw the expression of sheer astonishment on Ellie's face, the angel stopped trying to move them.

"What? Ellie, what is it?"

"It seems the Lord blesses you further, now that you are closer to understanding his plan for you," Pastor Clarke replied in the succubus' stead, causing Penny to turn her head to him and brushing over Ellie's face with the new feathers behind her head. Anandi and Sarah seemed to have left somewhere during the proclamations of love between angel and demon. The pastor smiled, only to wince as beads of mild began to form on his dark, swollen nipples. "Hm, I will need to empty them soon... In any case, I think this is a sign that you are on the right path, Penny."

"It's gorgeous, Penny!"

"What? What is?"

"Well, ain't that pretty!" The gorgeous woman with the seashell compact had been wandering past, only to stop as she saw the angel looking around in confusion. Her southern drawl seemed simultaneously at odds with and enhancing her beauty. "Here, y'all should take a look."

Holding her compact so Penny could see herself, the southern beauty smiled - and now it was on the angel to be speechless in astonishment. The wings that had grown behind her head, their pure white feathers raised towards heaven were framing her head, each one half of a rough oval.

A halo.

(Author's comment: This marks the end of my second finished story arc. I'll write an epilogue sometime in the future to see where they end up, but for now, this is complete.)
