Chapter 5 by AnthroLover AnthroLover

How is their reunion?

Tearful

Yahya knew Gosha for years. He had shared good and bad moments with him. He saw Gosha smile, laugh, rage, get depressed and be embarrassed. But he had never seen Gosha cry.

Gosha's eyes were red and slightly bloached as he looked at the horse. It was possible to see the still fresh tear tracks on the lizard's face. Yahya had never, in all his life, seen Gosha with an expression like that on his face.

He seemed lost and defeated. As if he was tired of everything in the world.

After the silence between the two, Gosha was talking to Yahya, asking him what he wanted. His voice sounded as sad and broken as his apperence, another clear indicator that Gosha had been crying copiously right before Yahya arrived.

The horse asked if he could step in and have a chat, to what Gosha accepted. The inside of the house was clearly unkept, what the Komodo dragon apologized for, as well as for not having anything to offer. On a corner of the room, there was a crib, and a baby wolf was looking through the bars, seeing the lizard and the horse as they came inside. Yahya immediatelly knew that this was Gosha's child. However, his attentiob was taken away from her to something on the table: a gun.

Yahya was very careful when addressing the subject of his visit. Much more than he would be to most people who he considered to be suspects. He asked Gosha questions regarding his wife, Toki. Gosha answered the best he could.

After he found out that Toki was pregnant with his child, he went to marry her. Their marriage was very discreete and kept strictly off the boks, because of the illegal nature of the marriage between venomous and non-venomous animals. From there, they went to live together, and they had a very happy marriage, with Toki being comprehensive and kind to Gosha's feelings and fears, while Gosha was very careful to never let his poison bring harm to his dear Toki.

However, there was a point when all went wrong.

Gosha told Yahya about how it happened. How it seemed like just another day on their married life, when Toki suddenly leaned forward and kissed his mouth. Gosha recovered from the shock quickly, but found his bottle of **** completely empty. He rushed to the storage to get another one, but found all of the **** gone, and replaced with pictures of himself, Toki and their little daughter Leano. Toki had tossed it all away, before deliberating kissing her venomous husband.

Yahya could not believe it.

He knew that female wolf was air-headed, but that was just absurd! How could she do something so irresponsible!? So stupid!? What was she even think!?

"S-she wanted t-to help me..." Gosha said, his voice breaking. "S-she knew that I was always worried. T-that I was worried with accidentally poisoning her. S-she p-probably thought that... I-i-if she did that then... she would show me that I didn't needed to worry. T-that I-I would be able to... to live without having to worry so much... S-she was smilling. She was dying right in front of me and she was smilling sweetly. L-like she always did..."

At that point, the Komodo dragon broken into sobbing, buring his face into his hands, as both tears and poison dripped from his face and hands into the table. The poison fizzling as it ate through the wood. Yahya was silent, as he didn't knew what to say now.

"I-it's all my fault, Yahya!" Gosha finally said, still sobbing. "I-I knew it would be dangerous! You told me it would be dangerous! For a Komodo dragon to be with a wolf! You told me it would not end well, but I didn't listened! Now she is dead! She is dead, and it was my poisnon that killed her! It is like I murdered her!"

"You didn't!" Yahya said, looking at Gosha. "It was her own stupidity! She did that without thinking of the consequences! You didn't do anything!"

"I married her." Gosha said after a few moments of silence. "I was fully aware of the risks of getting involved with a non-venomous animal, and I did it anyway. Now I have to live with it." He was taking deep breaths, as if he was fighting back more sobs. "A-and I... I don't think I can... I don't think I can live every day knowing that it was my poison that killed her. Knowing that one day I'll have to explain this to Leano. I... just feel like I can't."

Yahya looked at the Komodo dragon for a few seconds, before looking at the gun resting over the table.

Before he knocked the door. Gosha was about to...?

"So..." Gosha said, making Yahya look at him once more. "I just confessed that my poison killed my wife..." The lizard looked at the horse, a sad and tired look on his eyes. "Are you going to arrest me?"

What Yahya does?
