"...oh, I just thought I would borrow Ruby for a moment," Jaune started slowly.

"What for?" Weiss asked, her eyes narrowed.

"Well, I just figured that since we're both team leaders, we should talk about potentially collaborating in certain things. Like school events, projects, and training exercises," Jaune replied, trying to sound as smooth as possible. He was as nervous as hell. This was not how he pictured his first days at Beacon, having a sex ****, and trying to get her away from prying eyes under a convenient excuse.

Honestly, when he thought about it like that, it sounded much more nefarious than it actually was. "Oh, sounds like a good idea!" Ruby cheered, high fiving Jaune. "You gals don't mind, do ya?" she asked.

"Fine, whatever," Weiss huffed, not making eye contact with either of them, making them blink, wondering what got her mood so sour... Then again it was probably just Weiss being Weiss.

"Go for it! Leaders should take charge, after all!" Yang told them. Ruby gave a subtle smirk Jaune's way at those words.

"I take it you'll be extending the offer to collaborate to Cardin as well?" Blake asked, gazing at them.

"Uh, what?" Jaune blinked.

"That Cardin guy, at least I think that's his name. He leads a team too, so by your logic, you should also be bringing him in on that idea," Blake continued.

Jaune swore mentally. He didn't know anything about this Cardin, but he did know he and Ruby didn't want a third wheel for obvious reasons! "Oh, sure! We will extend the offer!" Ruby chimed in for the save. "I think Jaune just wants to start with our teams, considering how we worked to beat those big Grimm, and see how it goes first!"

"Uh, yeah, that's right!" Jaune nodded, rolling with it.

"Fair enough," Blake said, before returning to her book. Jaune and Ruby quickly left the dorm and walked the halls to find somewhere private.
