After the teams are formed.

After exiting the bullhead, Ruby walked with Weiss, the heiress doing her best to ignore her partner, and Jaune walked with Pyrrha. "So where were you?" she asked him curiously.

"Oh, I get motion sick easy if I don't spend enough time on airships," Jaune replied, looking to have a cover story for why his motion sickness was gone. "If I do though, I adapt pretty quickly, at least until the next time I spend too long without flying. Hole Beacon has a lot of field trips," he laughed.

Pyrrha also chuckled. "Sounds a little rough."

"It is," Jaune nodded as they turned in the chess piece they collected to Glynda Goodwitch, who looked it over and nodded, and they were led to the auditorium for the team assignment ceremony once they were confirmed to have passed the test.

Ozpin got on the stage, and began the announcements. It turned out that teams were decided by the pairs choosing the chess pieces. There were two of each piece, so whichever pairs had the matching set would be put in the team of four. As such, Ruby and Weiss were teamed up with Yang and Blake, Ruby named Team Leader, the team name being RWBY (Ruby), funnily enough.

Jaune mentally cursed at that, having hoped to be in a team with Ruby for obvious reasons. Still, maybe he could figure something out still. It was then announced that his team was with Nora and Ren, which he was fine with, given they proved to work well together. He was absolutely shocked to hear that he was named Team Leader, and his team was named JNPR (Juniper). Ozpin simply sent him a smile and a congratulations.

After the ceremony concluded, they headed to their new dorms, and unpacked, Jaune's mind racing with an idea. An excuse to have regular meetings with Ruby. Once they were settled in, he headed right across the hall to RWBY's dorm, and blinked as he knocked and was allowed in. "...bunk beds? Really?" he sweat dropped. Not to mention they were cobbled together in a rather dangerous fashion, unstable as hell.

"...it was kind of the only way we could make it work, given one of us, Weiss ("Hey!" Weiss protested), decided to bring way more than their fair share of stuff..." Ruby explained.

"I didn't know the dorms would be this small!" Weiss huffed, crossing her arms.

"...small?" Jaune blinked. The dorms were pretty darn large for school dorms, even having attached kitchens!

"Spoi-led~!" Yang sang, punctuating the syllables.

"Shut it!" Weiss shouted with a furious blush.

"So what brings you by?" Blake asked Jaune.

"Oh, um..." Jaune stammered, trying to remember his excuse, having been momentarily distracted by the sheer chaos of this room.
