Talking to a god

Jonathan wakes up feeling well, considering his last memory was the old trope of being hit by a vehicle. He then looks down and sees that green scales cover where skin should be. Checking himself over, Jon finds plants cover parts of his body, and his finger nails are sharp after slicing some of the robe he found himself in. After some looking around he finds a full body mirror to fully see the changes. He is definitely part dragon from the scales, but the facial features are human enough, though hints of fox or canine are there. His eyes are still brown, but his hair is close to emerald in color. His scales are a seafoam green that fades into flesh colors. He is glad that while these scales cover everything, they don't show up except on his forearms, shins, and parts of his chest. His height hadn't changed(a mighty 5'6" or about 168 cm) but he felt heavier or more dense. His teeth felt sharper and all there. He opened his mouth and was greeted with something like a shark's mouth with grinders from a herbivore or omnivore.

A clearing of a throat draws Jon's attention to behind him, where he sees a being seated with a woman next to him behind a low desk, the room gaining an eastern look to it. Jon walks over and seats himself in front of this person, resting on his legs. "Hello, I am Jonathan Williams amd you are?"

(Insert speech from Spirt King pact)

Jon thinks for a second, and states "As a stranger to the lands, I feel uncomfortable making such a big decision. If one of the authorities of the land wish for it to be so, I'm up for it. Can I negotiate what this pact is?"

"Yes," says the Spirit King, " I can use my position to get you named as the leader of one of the nations have yiu unite the whole continent, or you could reduce the nations by 1 or you could just owe me a favor to be called in later"

"I will try to reduce the nations by one. What will you give me for doing this?" Jon asks feeling that specific task might be within his capabilities.

"First off, a companion and wife. This is Sakura," they point to the woman at their side, "She has offended me and has agreed to a pact where she will be spared in exchange for killing 999 evil spirits and marrying a person of my choice. She is trained in a spiritual art of true striking. She is willful, but should make a good partner for you. I will also give you the Nemuidesu. It is the sword that inspired a smith to make his 12 dragonite swords with souls."

"Thank you for your gifts to accomplish this goal. I will put all my effort into doing this the right way," Jon bows his head as he accepts these things.

"I will put you someplace near another of your companions, a place for you to master yourself. Tell the monks I sent you. Go forth and do great things "
