Talk to the village head

"Hi," you say before remembering that you're on a classified mission, "I'm Naruto from Konoha." Not mentioning the clan name should count as keeping your identity hidden, though you have yet to realize that you've given your clan name just a few minutes prior.

The village head frowned slightly but he quickly schooled his feature. "My name is Kouji." He then gestures around him. "And this is the Nagiso village."

Now that the fighting had ceased, you have the time to glance around. It is a medium-sized village, and according to the info you have on this village, it has around 250 villagers which makes it amazing considering its remote location. Another thing that impresses you is that despite some of the houses being small, indicating that the people living there aren't doing well, the whole of the village is pretty clean and well-kept, something that requires the participation of everyone. You turn back to Kouji to see him being joined by a slightly younger woman who stands to his right. Most probably his wife.

"I'm glad to be able to help."

At that remark, Kouji and his wife bows their heads. "I'm very sorry, but our village has been through a terrible time recently that we're currently be unable to pay you for this mission."

You become confused by that statement. Why is he talking about paying you when you have yet to mention anything about it? "I was just passing by when I notice the bandits. I'm just helping, don't worry." However, your attempt to assuage him don't work. Looking at everyone bowing their heads toward you, it looks like they are not convinced either. Then you recall rumors about middlemen who goes around charging exorbitant fees to various communities in order to commission a mission for Konoha to complete. You decide to look into the matter later. "I'm not going to charge anything, okay? Konoha will not charge too."

Kouji raises his head slowly and you hear a small "Really?"

"As I said just now, I'm a Konoha shinobi, though I am on a vacation right now," you say in an attempt to persuade everyone. "So whatever I do right now will not be counted." It is a lie, since you're liable to be disciplined if for any misconduct at all time, even while not on a mission. Currently you are on a mission.

"Thank you, Naruto-sir, my Lord."

"Just Naruto," you insists, "and please, stop bowing,"

After he has straightened himself, Kouji says, "Since Lor- since Naruto is on a vacation, would you stay at the village and allow us to provide accommodation for you? Despite our village is located in a remote area, we're proud of our onsen baths and our local food. At night, you can also engage in night stroll in the village, if you desires, or just enjoy yourself at your chosen accommodation. How about it, sir, Naruto?"

You scratch your head. For what seems to be a village focusing on tourists, it looks like a normal village. Then there's the way Kouji propositions you to stay. As for a night stroll? While the village is beautiful, you're pretty confident that you can stroll around the village in less than an hour. It's a good thing he's not a tourism marketer as Kouji isn't very convincing. Then again, if you want, you can stay for a few days at the village. The prospect of relaxing in the bath sounds very inviting.
