Talk to the gate guard

You decide to pick yourself up off the ground and speak to the gate guard. You were actually surprised at how nice the place looked. The sun had barely gone down and the moon was shining bright. There were these firefly sized blue spheres of light that hovered around the nearby trees. The building itself protected by the fence looked as if it were a small castle that could have been built hundreds of years ago. "Um... hi can you help me?" You say as you approach the gate. "What do you mean? Oh, you must be new here" she stated. "What are you doing out so late anyway? It is really not safe for someone like you to be wandering around at night" she warned. "What are you talking about?" you asked. She then opened the gate for you. "You'll find out soon enough I'm sure. Regardless, come on let's talk inside. It's safer and you look tired" she said. While accompanying you inside she remarked "It's not often we see people like you come in. I can tell you're different because of that weird book you have. Most of you guys come in carrying it. Though usually you bring luggage".

As you enter your new home you start to come to your senses and realize people are just different here. Just next to the entrance was someone wearing what looked like red leather armor and had a sword strapped to her back. Then you saw an orc sleeping on the couch in the main entrance. The gate guard leads you upstairs to show you to your room. You couldn't help but feel slightly on edge with what she said earlier coupled with the fact that the people are looking at you with what could only be described as hunger in their eyes. "Don't pay them too much mind" she said. "There are rules in the dorms that should keep you safe and sound. I recommend making friends fast for your sake" she said. She showed you to your room. Its in the middle of the hallway on the second floor. You have a good view of the courtyard at front as well as the gate outside. "If you need any help or have questions, Leshaun is two doors down. She is in charge of the second floor and is always happy to help" she mentioned. "Thank you, goodnight" you said.

You close your door behind you and see that your room had two beds in it. "At least I don't have a roommate I guess" you think to yourself. The room was bare otherwise aside from the sheets and pillows on your bed. You are now safe but bored so you start to read the guide book those suits who brought you here gave you. You flip to the table of contents and are surprised with how much information was in the book. TOA history, TOA Studies, Non-Human Residents, and Dorm Life were all examples of available chapters to read. You were going to continue reading the guide but you were tired so you decided to go to sleep. Part of you hopes that you will wake up again at home.
