Talk to her

During lunch time, I saw that she was all alone so I went to talk to her.

“Hey, how are you holding up?”

“Why do you care? I feel like I got betrayed”

“Hey Mel listen guys like Matt are always going to want a girl that will be oblivious to their antics so they can do whatever they want. You clearly were the victim in this situation.”

“I just don’t know what to do, I thought I finally got someone to love me but I got taken advantage of by another douche bag.”

“Look if anything, it is great that this happened, because you got to see what kind of a person he really is. Now it’s just a matter of finding the right person to trust you know.”

I could tell that she was still extremely sad so I decided to make her day just a little bit better. I stopped time and immediately went to the bakery across the street to the school. I went to get some chocolate chip cookies and came back to the table. I resume time and continue the conversation.

“Hey, it’s only going to go up from here. Here’s something to cheer you up”. I then take out the box of cookies

“Thanks… those are actually my favorite” Melanie says with a small smile. “You’re actually the only person who has come and tried to comfort me. Thank you.”

“Hey no problem, if you need someone to talk to, I’ll be here.”

The bell then rings and we all go to our respective classes.
