Marcos: Whatever you can only imagine! We Romans are at the centre of the world's trade routs, I can get you diamonds, silk, spices, furs, codexes, all sort of things! But of course, at a high price, to make it profitable for me too. Want to buy any of them?

Marcos... Mh... I the price is negotiable a bit, but not by much... Let's say I could get you any of these at a starting price of 10.000 gold. Interested?

You visit him again, with hopes to arrange for a deal. You don't have more coin, but try to find a way around that problem. If you are smart enough, maybe you could convince him somehow to trade with you. Or, you could use other means if necessary...
