What do you do next?
Talk to Ilse
Of course, you have to talk to Ilse since she is the center of the problem if not the cause of the problem. As you recall, she is staying at the room next to the baby's in case she had to get up to feed her at night.
You knock on the door and is admitted inside where a puzzled Ilse listened to your words before explaining the situation from her side. As you expected, the husband was the child's father and Muller didn't come into the picture until much later, just like he told you. The thing is, you have arranged for her to be divorced without knowing the whole picture. Then again, considering the deadbeat of a husband she had, it was an appropriate action.
However, when you tell her about what you did, what you did, Ilse burst in tears.
