Talk about her hobbies

"So, what do you like to do?" you ask.

"'What do I like to do'?" Emily reiterates.

"Yeah, hobbies and stuff." you say. Small talk has never been easy.

"I like reading, I guess." she shrugs: "Although, I don't have a lot of hobbies in general."

"Why not?" Claire asks.

"You don't have a lot of free time on the road. I can't carry a lot of heavy stuff. Most books I have on me are medical textbooks I can use to become better at my job, but I do occasionally buy some fiction."

"Oooh, what do you read?" Claire asks.

"Well, when I was younger, I liked those Septan fairy tales, but lately I've come to think of them as a bit narrow-minded."

"How so?" Claire asks nervously, eying the book cabinet behind her, clearly staring at a fairly extensive collection of Septan books. She is not the most subtle person in the world.

"Well, the villains are always orcs, mindlessly **** and pillaging everything they get in contact with. They're wanton brutes who only care about fighting and breeding." Emily explains. She is mostly correct. Gwen had smuggled a couple of books into the camp for you to read. Sometimes it would be a Septan book, and all of the ones you read had the orcs as villains.

"It's not... a completely inaccurate picture of orcs." you sigh.

"I don't buy it. The only orc I know is a hero." she smiles.

Not knowing how to take that compliment, you change subject: "Anything from the big city you miss?"

"Well, I do miss going to the cinema." she answers.

"YOU HAVE SEEN MOVIES!?" Claire yells all of the sudden.

"You haven't?" Emily asks and both you and Claire shake your heads.

"That's not right," Emily says surprisingly determined: "I'm taking you two to see a movie someday. It's something you have to try at least once in your lifetime."
