Tales and secrets

The three of you sit on the couch, and you have to admit, it’s not unpleasant to have both of them so close. Surprisingly, Emi takes the lead in telling her story, and you only occasionally have to fill in your own details. Lili is an attentive listener, her read eyes wide as she takes in Emi’s sad story. She covers her mouth with her hand in shock as Emi explains her time at the facility, and you can see tears welling up as she listens. Her expression changes to happiness as Emi talks about being rescued by you, and both girls glance at you fondly as the story continues.

As Emi talks, you take the time to flip through the packet that you were given. It covers the basics of caring for a Hybrid, and specific details pertaining to Lili. It seems like Hybrids have no real dietary restrictions, though it’s strongly recommended that they not consume ****. Apparently their body may react strangely, causing a much more potent effect than on a human. Additionally, it’s also recommended to avoid non-prescribed ****, for the same reasons.

As far as Lili specifically, you read that she is capable of flight, which surprises you a little. The notes say that while this is good exercise for a harpy, you should take care not to let her fly too high, especially at first. Though light, Lili is not used to exertion, and will tire quickly, so staying low to the ground is best at first. It goes on to say that her bones are quite weak, and breaks can be extremely dangerous. The section ends with a repetition of the requirements to seek out a doctor as soon as possible.

Engrossed, you keep reading. The next section is unnervingly thorough, and details sexual matters. While they hardly hid the fact that this was a big part of Hybrids, you didn’t expect it to be this blatant. Flipping through, it seems mostly common sense, beyond additional warnings about Lili in particular requiring a gentle touch. It also mentions that she is completely inexperienced in sex, though apparently she has received education as to what to expect.

You look up from the packet to see Emi leaning over to whisper to Lili, and there’s a big grin on the harpy’s face. When they see you looking, they giggle and separate, both blushing cutely. You chuckle and shake your head.

“Secrets already? Should I be worried?”

Emi shakes her head, coughing slightly. “Not at all. Just girl talk.”

Lili nods, still giggling. “Yes-yes! Nothing scary!”

You smile. “If you say so. Emi, why don’t you give Lili a quick tour. I’m going to call and set up an appointment for her with this doctor, and hopefully we can sneak you in too.”

The girls share another glance, and smile. Emi nods. “A great idea. Come on, Lili, let’s go.”

They both hop off your lap, and walk away, already whispering to each other again. You smile to see them getting along so quickly, and pull out your phone.
