Taking advantage of Max's powers

Choe and Max sat in an out of the way corner of Two Whales Diner, on opposite sides of the table. Max smiled a little nervously, while Chloe was grinning.

"No freaking way!" Chloe said. "You're like some kind of superhero, Max."

"I'm not..." Max said, voice trailing off as her blue-haired friend interrupted. She never understood where Chloe got all her energy from.

"Are you kidding? You're some kind of time controlling wizard, what else would you call that?"

Max chuckled. It was hard not to.

She didn't know how or why, but she'd started being able to... rewind time. She'd live through things, then somehow go back in time and potentially change them. It was a little dizzying to be honest.

It figured Chloe would hear about something so cataclysmic, and just find it cool.

"So," Chloe dropped her voice. "Done anything... fun with it?"

"What?" Max said.

"You know, fun," Chloe said. "You could stand up and yell for everyone in here to go fuck themselves, and rewind it so that it never happened, but you'd still get the satisfaction. Or just deck someone for the fun of it."

"N-no," Max said. "That's not really me."

"Spoilsport," Chloe said. She lounged back in her chair for a moment, before suddenly leaning forwards over the table, voice dropping to a whisper. "You know what I'd do if I had your power?"

"Plot the perfect crime?" Max said playfully.

"That too," Chloe snorted. "And then I'd run naked through this diner knowing full well no one could stop me, and there wouldn't be any consequences, just for the thrill of it."

Max squeaked slightly.

"What, like you've never thought of it," Chloe said.

"I haven't!" Max said.

"I see I've failed in my job as a bad influence," Chloe said, still smirking. Then her eyes widened; "Hey! I could still do it. You'd just have to watch and tell me how it went, and I want deets."

"Chloe!" Max said. She couldn't help but chuckle at her friend's excited grin though.

"Well?" Chloe said. "How'd it go? Don't leave me hanging Super Max."

Max hesitated.

"You're serious?" Max said, dropping her voice too.

"Sure!" Chloe said. "Come on, if you could do something without facing any consequences whatsoever, wouldn't you want to go a bit nuts?"

"I wouldn't run naked through a diner!" Max said, her whisper incredulous.

"Give me time," Chloe said.

She gave a fake-sounding evil laugh; Max playfully kicked her under the table.

"Besides," Max said. "It doesn't work like that. Something has to happen for me to go back, I don't just know automatically. You'd have to actually go on the run before I could tell you about it."

Chloe paused; she shifted in her chair, rubbing her legs together, grinning contemplatively. Then:

"You'd better not be kidding about this Max," she said.

"I-" Max said. A moment later and Max's expression suddenly shifted. "You dye it blue?!" she said.

For a moment Chloe frowned. Then her face cracked into a grin, leaning forwards eagerly, resting her arms on the table.

"Back from the future, huh?" she said. "Like what you saw?"

Max flushed.

"Come on," Chloe said. "What happened? Tell me everything; I'm living vicariously through you right now, I need to know."

Max swallowed. It took her a moment to steady herself; reconnecting with her friend was one thing, watching her friend streak through the diner still took some getting used to.

She knew Chloe was outgoing but... wow.

"It started in the toilets," Max said. She kept her voice low. "You went into a cubicle, and I heard you undress, before you threw your clothes out. Your top landed on my head, and, uh, I picked up your clothes. All of them; you said it was so you didn't chicken out, and you told me to put them in your truck.

"You were still in the cubicle when I got back to the toilets. I tried to get you to back out, but you wouldn't; you made me promise I wasn't lying again, then said you'd always wanted to try it and, um, then you unlocked the cubicle and I saw..." Max flushed.

"Go on," Chloe said, a little breathlessly. "Hey Max, you saw me naked and I didn't even get to be there, the least you could do is tell me what you saw."

Max flushed scarlet. God, why was she as embarrassed recounting it as Chloe seemed to be doing it?

"Your... boobs," Max said. "You had one arm under them, not covering, you just seemed to be a bit awkward standing there. And I saw your- your pussy, and the landing strip, and seriously Chloe why is it blue? And then you twirled to show me your- the rest of you, and the tattoo on your back, before you told me to go sit back down.

"I left you naked in there, went back to this table, and waited for you to come out. and then you-" Max swallowed. "You were completely naked. No shirt, no jeans, no shoes, no- underwear. You laughed, I don't know if you were embarrassed or having fun or just mad or all three but you ran down the diner, past everyone, they- they saw everything. First as you ran up to me, stood naked by the table trying to get me to high five you, and I- I could see your..."

"And when you'd done that," Max said, cheeks almost as red as Chloe's had been, "You turned around and showed everyone the- front of you as you ran back past them, and out the diner to your truck. I, um, I rewound then."

Max flushed. Chloe meanwhile still shifted in her chair, pressing her legs together.

"Wow," she said. "I seriously got a chance to do that?"

Max nodded.

"Did you rewind straight back here, or spend a bit of time watching me naked?" Chloe said.

Max blushed; Chloe gave a triumphant laugh.

"Hella awesome Max," Chloe said, still breathless. She glanced around. "Hey, if I tried to get off here, could you let me know how far I get before someone stopped me?"

"Chloe!" Max said. Still, she giggled, still not quite able to believe how wild her friend could be.

"Just a thought," Chloe said. She grinned. "Hey, I've got to live through you now, I can do all the stuff I thought of without worrying about the consequences, and you can tell me how it went. Deal?"

"Deal," Max said, fairly sure she'd regret saying so and not particularly caring.

There was a slight flush on Chloe's cheeks, mixed embarrassment and excitement.

"And I've got the perfect place in mind," Chloe said.
