Takeout - No Pulses
You decide to eat with them and then leave them after. At least you could get a lunch out of having to endure hard work and insults.
You and Tyler jump in his sports car and make your way to the nearest Chinese place you know. You order noodles for everyone and after a short wait you are back in Jennifer's apartment, eating together on the floor surrounded by boxes. Despite the constant verbal barrage from Jennifer, you manage to focus on the food and the conversation.
You reminisce some more about college years. Jennifer casually mentions that she considered you the "hot one" of Frank's friend circle at the time. Before you can react, she adds, "Obviously, looks fade, and now you're just another pathetic male. But hey, at least you were once attractive, even if a creep."
You almost want to push on this information, but eventually decide not to make the situation more awkward and give Jen more ammo to insult you.
After lunch, you reluctantly exchange numbers with everyone, for when the phones start working again, then you exit the apartment block. You need to escape. This new world is suffocating. Perhaps it is different elsewhere? Maybe it was centered around Frank? Weird shit started happening after he arrived. You could chill a moment with a walk in the park to see if anything changes outside. Your friend Emily works at the mall, maybe you can go and bother her until her shift is over, she isn't the type to throw insults at you... you hope. Or maybe you can go to Clark's garage. He likes chatting while working on motors and may be a good source of information on what is going on.
