Jaya looked down at her absurd outfit in shock. Then her sisters each took her by the hand and guided her to the door. All the girl's came along, including her mother in law, as Jaya was practically pulled from the safety of her apartment, down the hall and out the door.

They emerged onto the busy city street. Jaya felt totally foolish in this dorky boy's outfit. She now knew her family's plan: they were going to parade her around, expecting everyone to believe Jaya was a little boy and not a fully grown, adult woman! Jaya found the very idea absurd. Okay, she didn't have the curviest body, and her hair was cut short, but she was so clearly feminine. This would never work! She scoffed at their silly plan, certain no one would ever believe she was a boy...
