Chapter 9 by brambank brambank

Where should Leanne go?

Take the lift

Leanne was eager to get out of that attic and, despite not trusting it entirely, she knew the lift was the best way out of there. She turned to the elevator and pressed the button. Her anxiety grew with each passing second as she waited impatiently. All the while checking over her shoulder for things lurking in the shadows.

Eventually the doors slid open with a ping. The warm light welcoming and ready to take Leanne to her next destination. She glanced behind her at the gloomy attic. There was no sign of movement so Leanne stepped forward into the lift. She was wary about using the contraption that had taken her to such a cursed place and jumped with a yelp as the doors suddenly closed behind her.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself Leanne's finger jabbed hastily as the first button she saw. She had no idea which she’d pressed or even if it would work how she wanted it to. The only thing in her mind right now was getting somewhere else. Her nakedness was almost a secondary concern.

After a worrying pause the lift began to move and Leanne was transported downwards. Moments later and the doors slid open with a mechanical clunk and she peered out into her new surroundings.

She was back on one of the corridors, although which exactly she couldn’t be certain, and it was just as dark and dingy with the same musty odour. Fortunately there was no sign of life so the young woman stepped hesitantly out into the hallway. Her arms wrapped tight around her naked bosom as she tried to protect them from the cool air. Now she was somewhere new she desperately needed something to wear. But where from? It wasn’t like she could trust that another horror wouldn’t be waiting for her behind any of the random doors that lined the hall.

What should Leanne do?
