Chapter 21 by ledergmayne1

What do you intend now?

Take stock of what we have

You wander about your lair in a sad daze, having lost your two sources of sexual pleasure, who knows how long it will be before you get to spread your seed again? Finally, your feet nudges the pitiful pile of items you call a hoard. Looking down, you take in your stock of items, including the new ones you got from your latest kills. Let's see here, we have the Bard's short shorts, the Healer's staff, two mana potions, one empty potion bottle, some dumb book and some rations. While scrounging around you also find new items from that carriage you had previously taken down. A crossbow, two shortswords and some horse pelt...

"What am I suppose to do with any of these exactly?" You thought to yourself as you took a nice whiff of the Bard's short shorts, rubbing your little buddy below. You pick up the crossbow, seems like it was already loaded but you are unsure if your fingers were capable of using such a complex weapon. Hey, maybe you might finally be able to use that ranged attack stat that you had. Placing down the crossbow, you sift through more of the items before deciding to try and read the book. You were capable of reading the names above people and their stat sheets, surely you could read this book? Holding the book in your hands, a pop-up appears, "read", "summary", "craft" and "trash". You give it a few seconds of thought before clicking "summary", opening a second pop-up with more words. Giving the stats a once over, seems like the name of this book is "Ophelia's book of cantrips", Ophelia? Was that the Healer's name? The word "Cantrips" also caught your eye, you knew of them, you have seen the starting wizards and witches use them to pester you and all in this forest. They were usually weak spells that did not consume a spell slot, allowing for it to be used multiple times. This might be useful if you could somehow learn them and if the spell did not require a verbal command to cast. You still could not speak human, after all.

Besides the name, the only other piece of information you could gather was that the previous owner was Ophelia and now it was yours. As you tried to close the second tab, you accidentally click on Ophelia's name, opening a third pop-up. That was unexpected! You read the new stat sheet and learn that her full title was "Ophelia Level 3 Cleric (FortuneBattlers:3)", you had no clue what (FortuneBattlers:3) even meant. Seems like the rest of her page was private as that was all the information you could find. You tried to repeat your mistake again, clicking on the word (FortuneBattlers:3) to see if a fourth pop-up would appear, sure enough it did. Wow this was alot of words, you thought while skimming the data and taking a bite out of some of the flesh you had in your satchel. Created a few months ago for the sole purpose of grinding for items, has a few hundred members, ranked two hundred and fifty-three globally and is located in the city of Preheaven. Wait a minute, you click on Preheaven which opens up a fifth pop-up. You soon realise that this was the city that was upstream the Emerald River! It was pretty far from where you were but apparently they had trade with the city downstream the river, the one you had seen with Maria which was called Deltaplere. Sometimes, carriages would travel to and fro the two cities for a multitude of reasons, guess that explains the random encounters like the one with Maria.

After a bit more reading, you close all the tabs, seems like you have two more goals to add to your long list of things to do. If you had to hazard a guess, Maria would be in Deltaplere and Ophelia would be in Preheaven. Wait a minute, if they are in the city, they could tell everyone of a crazy Lesser Poison Dragon that went around killing Heroes and **** maidens. From your light reading, it seems Ophelia was apart of this (FortuneBattlers:3) Guild of sorts. She would definitely rat you out to them, your lair would no longer be safe once she gets some of her stronger friends to come and wreck this place. Would there be bounties of you? There would be right? You managed to kill and kidnap Heroes, that is basically villain level right there. A part of you is slightly proud if that were to happen, of course, the other half is scared shitless. Actually the other group of heroes you encountered had (xXxBanterzxXx) next to their names, was that another guild? One stationed in Deltaplere? Would they too try and hunt you down once Maria spills the beans of what happened? Those four would probably hunt you down regardless after making such a fool of them. You doubt either woman would share the more intimate interactions you had with them but they would definitely frame you in an extremely negative light.

One thing was for certain though, your respawn point is no longer going to be safe within the next few days. Sighing, you lay down on the ground and tap on the book again. Clicking the read option, you began to build your knowledge like any good dragon would. Most of the content in the book was too complex for you, so you just read the names of the cantrip spell and move on if it did not interest you. Finally, you land on one that seemed pretty useful for your predicament, "Mold Earth" would allow you to manipulate any portion of dirt or stone within a 5-foot cube. It seems to only require somatic materials, which meant you just had to move your hands a certain way and simply will the earth the move. Seems simple enough, you thought as you slammed the book shut.

The moon is high in the sky and yet not an ounce of progress was made. You had spent the entire day and evening putting in the absolute most effort to magically move a single pebble. Forget this, you were gonna go to sleep and leave this to tomorrow.

(Thirty days to the next Blood Moon)

What happens in the morning?
