What's next?
Take me home tonight
Jodie held on to Adam as they walked through the car park. She had thoroughly enjoyed their trip. Maybe dating a rich guy wasn't so bad after all. Even if her feelings weren't beyond that of 'friends with benefits' right now one day in the future they would grow. Probably.
But she would have to tell Eric. It would be so awkward and he'd probably think she was gay. She could repair whatever damage she had done to their so called relationship, passing her overly excited nature with the truth or half of it anyway. How he'd react to the full truth of Jordan however still worried her to the point it felt like a sliver of rusted metal was stuck in her heart. At some point he would want her pussy and find out she didn't have one....Would she need to...get one to stay alive? Would they just break up and she would be back at square one, no less than square one, she wouldn't have any friends any more, she may even lose her job!
Jodie's lamentations were cut short when a pink Audi TT convertible pulled in front of them. An image of a bubble brained ditz with more boobs than brains popped into her mind immediately as the owner of such a powder pink colored car. The driver stepped out and handed the keys to Adam. "She drives great for a tampon." He laughed.
Adam shook his head but smiled, "Shut up, assmunch." The two men smiled and shook hands, pulling each other into a typical bro hug. "Oh," Adam turned to face Jodie, leaving his arm around the driver's shoulders, "This is Michael. He's a lacky I keep around to do my more menial tasks."
Michael shoved Adam off, "I'm his friend, though, god only knows why." He extended his hand to the very confused Jodie.
"Um, nice to, like, meet you?" She gave him her hand to shake only for him to turn it over and kiss the back of her hand. The feeling was different and yet disgusting all the same. Somehow she kept her disgust to herself.
"A pleasure I'm sure. Or soon enough." The glint in his eye made Jodie feel uncomfortable. She knew what it was, she leered at plenty of women to recognize the signs of pure lust.
"A-Adam is, like, my boyfriend."
"We all make mistakes." He turned to face Adam who simply rolled his eyes.
"I was gonna offer you a ride back but I guess you just wanna walk."
"Worth it." He winked at Jodie.
"Jodie, come here." She hurried to Adam, taking any excuse to be away from his friend. "Why don't you drive?"
"Me?" Her eyes lit up, as ultra feminine as the car was it was still better than any car she ever got to drive, second only to Adam's.
"Of course. It is your car after all."
"Mine?! Fer real?!"
Adam nodded, handing her the keys. "I gotta take care of my girl don't I?"
"I love it!" She kissed Adam happily. Her short happy kiss soon turned into a passionate tongue battle. She thought for a moment to put a stop to it but she then decided he deserved it since he did just buy her a brand new car!
"I love you too." He said softly as they came up for air. She smiled and pushed her fears away for now. They were a bridge she would have to cross in the future. But today she was going to celebrate her new car.
They left Michael with the keys to Adam's car and orders to bring it straight home. Jodie flew down the interstate enjoying the cool wind in her long hair and the thrill of weaving in and out of traffic made her heart race ever faster. She ignored Adam's request to slow down or insistence on discussing boring things like car payments. Who cares if putting thirty grand down meant her payments would be much easier to manage. She just wanted to enjoy her freedom for as long as possible.
After a long and roundabout drive Jodie had dropped Adam off at his apartment, he insisted she stay with him that night but she managed to convince him she had an important hair appointment that would simply take all day and she would have no fun with him at work all day. Her argument was certainly weak but she felt proud to see him relent. She had spent a long time practicing her pout in private.
So it was, she was able to return home. Standing outside of her door she slowed her breathing, trying to calm herself as she had done whenever he had been out on a bender and returned to his parents.
Finally, opening the door she saw an empty living room. She thought for a moment, she could simply slip in, fain sleep in the morning, and avoid the unbearable conversation she needed to have with Eric.
Stepping further inside she saw Eric stepping out of their room. The relieved smile on his face was enough to wash away her fears. Jodie wanted more than anything in the world to just throw herself into his warm, inviting arms, and stay there forever. But she had to control herself. Giving in to her feelings now would only make it harder to let him go.
"Jodie." She felt stupid, enjoying the way he said her name like it was his most favorite of words. "I'm glad you're home."
She swallowed hard and nodded, "Me too " why did she feel like having a heart attack.
"I-I suppose we should talk?"
Jodie shook her head, "Not tonight. I'm dead on my feet." Those were the wrong words to say, for immediately she was lifted up off of the floor and held princess style.
"Better?" Eric kissed her softly. Part of him wanted to sit her on the couch and hash out all their issues right now. Another part wanted to get lost in her eyes forever and whisper all the things they used to make fun of in the movies. While another part of course wanted to take her to bed and welcome her home properly. Three guesses which. But what was important to him now was taking care of his girlfriend.
"Much." She laughed and buried her face into his chest. She didn't know how long it would last but for now, she was home.
