Take Kraken with you

You walk through the portal holding the bridle of the horse. Behind you, the portal collapses.

You are in a park, Kraken watches you, and rubs his head on your shoulder.
At first, your life is hard, it's difficult to maintain a horse, but soon, his incredible intelligence becomes impossible to ignore.

You start small, shows, and private exhibitions. Kraken lets children braid his mane, bows on command, and once even "counted" to ten by stomping his hoof.

After only one year, you are rich. Kraken has his own stable, a personal groom, and a fan club of socialites who bring him sugar cubes and carefully selected vegetables.

You grow old together, wealthy and content. The horse has an unnatural long life. On quiet evenings, you still bring him apples, and he still huffs impatiently if you're slow to peel them.

When both of you are too old, he guides you to your private park...
At the edge of an old oak, something strange shimmers: a gate made of sunlight. Kraken stops before it and turns to you.

No words are needed. You stroke his face one last time, then you step forward together. The light swallows you both.

Behind you, on the grass, only one thing remains... Your walking cane. And you found peace... Always together.
