Tae Kawanabe analysis

Despite having lived with her mother for only a relatively short time nobody had more effect on Tae's personality than Tsubasa Kichiya/Kawanabe. In the past the young mother was an upcoming athlete before a leg injury robbed her of her career and was pretty much to find a husband to support her, so when Tae was born she her own dream on her as soon it was physically possible and she would use various tactics to brainwash her young child into someone convenient for her and later had her daughter follow a training regimen that was bordering behind her husband's back.

When Shige eventually got wind of this he tried to put a stop to it but by that point it was too late Tsubasa threatened him that she would accuse him for domestic and if he did anything to stop her assuring him that their daughter would side with her, disturbed and afraid he, already tired emotionally from his wife's lack of affection, left the two of them to their own devices distancing himself from them as much as possible. Eventually the unstable Tsubasa would put an end to her own life. This would signal the start of a more normal life for Tae, her father tried his best to reconnect and she now had a new sister that filled her with warmth she also now had time to connect with her classmates, despite this Tae remained steadfast in the goal her mother set for her. Years later she would learn of the true identity of Aiko and her father's infidelity which has strained her relationship with the later and mistrust all males in general.
