Taco Date

(John’s PoV)

What a day! I'm floating on Cloud 9 as I close up with Maria. We're finishing up and about to go when we finally have a chance to talk. She embraces me from the front and mercifully left my head free from boobie prison. She did give me a kiss on the check. One I returned by kissing her forehead.

"Hey Johnny-boy." That lame nickname shouldn't be so sexy, but Maria could call me dirt and make it sound sexy. "I think Cotton and I came to an understanding. She's meeting me at the gym for my afternoon workout."

“Thanks for talking to her. I wasn’t in the mood for her nonsense today. You girls have fun at the gym. I'm meeting Rita for dinner and then....” I put my hands on her newly widened hips and look into her eyes. She sways her hips under my hands and I can feel her hunger. “And then I can drop by your place, to pick up where we left off.”

"Mmmm, that sounds just purrr-fect. Take care of my baby girl, then come take care of momma." Another kiss, this time on the lips before we separate and head out.

I need to assign some quests before my date. First I'll make sure the evening goes as hoped.

I'm still not sure what to do with Cotton. Maria and Matt have changed so much I need to be careful before I start someone else down a path. Let's just do some basic stuff to make her less of a spoiled brat.

Now for Rita. It might make it easier for her to have some structure for our date. This way she can be confident it will go well.

I wonder what makes this quest so hard? I'll help her with this quest, it should be okay. I'd give her a kiss anyway. I run home to shower and change before I go to the dorm to pick up Rita.

I text Rita as I walk up to her building. She's not ready yet, so I'll have to wait for her.

The bored goth girl is behind the desk again. Ignoring me. Again.

"Hello there." I say to her in my best Ewan McGregor voice. It got her attention at least.

"Back again, Mr. 'Boyfriend'?" She gives me an appraising look. There's something in her eyes, not quite approval, but better than dismissal.

"Back again." I gesture where the flowers were and give the goth girl a grin. "Looks like she wanted the flowers."

"Her friend came and got 'em." She smacked her gum. "Prolly put 'em straight in the trash. What're you here for today? Creeping outside her room?"

"A date. She's getting ready."

"A date?" She scoffed. "With Rita 'third floor troll' Torres?"

"Troll? Like because she's short and cute?" I know she's being mean, but I refuse to play along. Rita's only been Cute I since this morning.

"No, dummy. Troll. Like she's short, fat, ugly and doesn't come out of her cave."

"Like doesn't get a lot of sun?" I give her the DiCaprio squint. I know her pasty ass isn't calling someone else out.

Fortunately, our conversation is interrupted by Rita's arrival. "John! I'm ready!"

I take a moment to take in Rita's outfit, she does a spin so I can see the whole thing. Her flower-print sundress lifted as she spun and flashed her cute girly panties. Rita's legs led from her chubby thighs down to a tall pair of wedges. Heading up wards, the dress cinched her waist nicely and had a square neck that gave her pale cleavage. Finishing the look, on her head was a straw hat and a ribbon in her hair.

I had to give her a big hug. "You're so cute I want to gobble you up."

"It's not too much for tacos, is it?" Rita asks.

"It's perfect. Let's go to Taco Juan."

"Okay. As long as you think I look fine."

"Babe. You look great!" My reply starts to sink in and I can see her gather her confidence.

"Let's go! You'll have to walk slow, I just got these shoes." She gestures to the tall wedge sandals she's wearing.

"That just means we can spend more time together."

"Who says I want to spend time with you?" Rita manages to tease back with a big smile.

"You wound me! I will have to take Gerta the Grouchy Goth for tacos instead."

"Uggh, get a room you two. Besides, my name is Lyra, not Gerta."

We ignore 'Lyra' and turn to leave. I offer my arm to Rita and she eagerly grabs it. Pulling herself in close.

We make our way to Taco Juans. Slowly. Rita wobbles her way on her wedges the entire way. She holds on to my arm to stay stable.

We chat about school and books and movies until we reach Taco Juan.

"It's my first time here." I admit.

"Really? I love Taco Juan!" She gets excited. "I get RoomRush every Tuesday."

"This was a good pick, then. What do you usually order?"

"Well, usually, I..." She trailed off embarrassed. "I usually order more than I should." Now I'm understanding the reward choices.

"Well, tonight I'm paying, so eat up. You look too cute to not have tacos. Do you want the Birria or the Pollo?"

"Birria!" She caught herself. "I mean, um, either is fine."

I order 20 tacos, enough to take some home for tomorrow. Her eyes bulge a bit at the order.

"You didn't have to, I can't eat all those." She started to worry.

"It's fine. You can take the extra for lunch tomorrow."

"If you say so."

"I say so." That sentence felt better than it should have. "Can you get us some salsa from the salsa bar?"

Rita goes the the salsa bar and quickly gathers several salsas. She obviously loves this place. She brings her salsa over to our seat humming a happy tune.

"Tacos for John." I go get our food and bring it to her. She bounces with excitement.

"Tacos! Let's eat!"

We take our time enjoying the different salsas and tacos. There's nothing like Taco Tuesday for cheap tasty food. After a bit we slow down. Half the tacos are left. I can tell Rita wants to keep going, but feels like she shouldn't. I'm still pretty hungry, so I keep going. Rita looks a bit surprised.

"Where do you put all that food? You're still so skinny."

"I started a new exercise routine. It's given me an appetite."

"Did Miss Maria drag you to the gym again? She keeps bothering me to join her, but I think she's trying to kill me."

Rita's serious expression makes me laugh. "She is pretty intense, almost like a different person at the gym." Now's not the time to tell her about our sauna sessions.

"I should workout more." She seemed ashamed. "I don't mind being soft, I just wish the food would go somewhere nice instead of my belly."

That can be arranged. I could get behind the idea of a thick cosplay cutie.

The date continued with nothing else notable happening. I boxed up the last few tacos and we headed back to Rita's dorm.

When we got back to the dorm my phone buzzed. Must be quest complete.

Rita stood in front of the elevator for a second, holding her tacos. "John, I had a really nice time. Thank you for the tacos." She leaned forward a bit, looking at my lips.

"Thank you for a wonderful date." I leaned in to meet her in a chaste goodnight kiss. "Goodnight, Rita."

"Goodnight, John." Her eyes were still closed.
