Chapter 33 by Darx00 Darx00

What's next?

Syvis

The distribution of groups was interrupted by three people who arrived suddenly. The one in front was an attractive guy with long red hair who came smiling and waving happily.

"Oops! Are we early?" The red-haired guy asked Harold putting his hand behind his neck.

"I told you to wait until I finished with the group split." Harold replied, looking a bit irritated.

"Sorry, sorry! I couldn't wait any longer. I was looking forward to seeing the new recruits." He then turned his attention to the group. "Let's get along, ok!" He said, smiling while his eyes were closed.

Some of the girls responded enthusiastically and whispering that they wanted to be in his charge. Unlike those girls, Leona and Shalia didn't look interested.

"I hate good looking guys." Ryul said, crossing his arms. "Oh, but I don't hate you, Darx."

"T-Thanks..." How am I supposed to respond to that comment...

"Pay no attention to him and please continue, Harold." The girl behind the red-haired guy said while she pulled his hair , moving him out of the way.

"Ouch, Ouch... Kiara... W-Wait, I-I give up..."

She is a woman dressed in black robes, along with a hood that covers most of her face. The only parts of her body that are exposed are her arms, some of her legs, her chin, black lips, and some dirty-blonde hair which spills from her hood.

"T-Thank you, Kiara. In that case, I will continue." Harold said, opening his notebook again.

While Harold was getting ready to continue, my attention was on the third person who arrived. I know her. There's no way I'll forget her. She is the reason why I decided to become an adventurer.

When I was a child, I went into the forest with Oliver even after my mother's warnings not to do it. A giant spider attacked us, and most likely we would have died if it had not been for a dark elf who saved us. It was the first time we saw an adventurer in action. Oliver and I were so fascinated by her that we decided to become adventurers ourselves. I thought I would never see her again.

Many years have passed since then, but she looks the same as I remember her. Will she remember me?

"Wow! I didn't know that dark elves were such a babes!" Ryul said in amazement. "Don't you think, Darx?"

When I was a child, I was captivated by her ability as an adventurer. But even at my young age, I was able to appreciate her beauty. Now that I am older, there are other things that I can recognize.

She really has a great body!!

Her face is beautiful with sharp and defined facial features. Long red hair which reaches below her waist. Green eyes and full lips with a small mole under her mouth's right side and pointed ears, distinctive of elves. An amazing figure like an hourglass. Her breasts are huge, with a slim waist and wide hips that highlight her big butt. She is also quite tall with long legs.

Besides that, the way she is dressing highlights her figure a lot. She is wearing an outfit that I'd say would be worn by a magic class adventurer. In the same way, her outfit is quite revealing, leaving a lot of skin exposed—a short tight black skirt that ends above her knees and a blouse showing her incredible cleavage.

She radiates an erotic and mature aura that is also somewhat mysterious. I'm sure hundreds of men must be after her.

During all this time, she was only quiet looking at the front, but I was looking at her so intently that I think she noticed, and our eyes crossed. The only thing I could do was to look away nervously, but I couldn't help turning to look at her sneakily at times while Harold finished dividing the groups.

When Harold is done sorting us, we are comprised of 3 teams, ours being the one with the fewest members. In the first team, most of them seem to be nobles. The next team was composed mostly of women, with four women and two men, and finally, our team. Then is when he turns around, and he focuses on the three people behind him.

Harold then points at the three people behind him and says, “Behind me stand the people that will be your mentors. They will monitor you over the next month and help you become used to your new skills and magical abilities. Each of them is also a recruiter for a guild. If you impress them, they will offer you a chance to join their guild.”

"I'll start introducing them." Harold said, starting with the only man of the three. "His name is Dante, and he is a member of Midnight Dawn. On his left is Kiara, and she belongs to the Dark Dragons." Harold said, referring to the girl with the black hood. "And finally, Syvis, who is a member of Oblivion."

So she is Syvis. She's who Harold wants me to talk to regarding my awakening. To think that Syvis was who saved me when I was a child and even more that we would meet again in these circumstances is quite crazy. Unfortunately, she is a member of Oblivion. The same guild that Kase and Amelia belong to. I don't know what to think about that.

"Each of them is a member of one of the three great guilds of Riledo. Depending on your performance during this month, you may receive invitations from all three guilds or none, so I suggest you do your best." Harold said. Then he turns around and tells the mentors they can start picking teams.

I see Kiara turn her head in my team’s direction, and she was about to say something when Syvis started walking in my direction, interrupting her. She was staring at me. Everyone else looked at each other, confused by her sudden action, and fell silent, wondering what she would do.

With every step she took, her big breasts also bounced, making the situation more troublesome. Ryul was next to me, and I could hear him say enthusiastically, "I think she's coming for me." At the same time, he did not stop looking at her bouncing breasts.

She came up to where I was, and she stands in front of me. She looked at me steadily and then leaned in a little, leaving her face very close to mine.

"Harold was right. What peculiar eyes." Syvis told herself as she looked at me. "Ok, I choose this team."

"I see. In that case, I leave them in your care." Harold replied.

"Wait, wait. It's my turn to pick first." Dante exclaim.

"Follow me." Syvis said without paying attention to what Dante said.

"Don't ignore me!" Dante yelled.

Confused, we walked behind Syvis. Before leaving, I could see Harold smile at me. I guess he wants me to speak to Syvis regarding what happened to me in the ritual. Syvis was walking at a fast pace and behind her were Ryul and me and behind us Shalia and Leona.

We were walking near the gardens that I had already seen at night, but they looked more impressive during the day. They are so big that they look like a maze.

"Damn. She is so sexy and that curvy ass." Ryul muttered, looking at Syvis's ass as we walked behind her.

Ryul seems mesmerized, staring at Syvis's ass without blinking. I don't blame him. Her spectacular long and smooth legs taking strides that **** me to skip a little to catch up with her are hard not to appreciate. First, she takes us to the armory where the guards store their equipment.

"If there is any equipment that you are lacking for training, feel free to grab something, anything you need. Do remember that at the end of the month, when you leave the castle, you will have to give it back" Syvis says.

Syvis then took us to a large area with different sections where there were several soldiers training. She stopped to one side of a dirt area with markings on the ground that hinted that it was a combat arena.

"I want to understand your combat level, so we will do a few rounds of fighting for that." Syvis said, placing herself in the center of what appears to be a training area. "You will be the first." Syvis said, pointing at me.

I walked to where she was. I didn't think I was going to have a match so soon, so I was nervous. What kind of combat will it be? I don't see Syvis carrying any weapons. Will it be hand to hand?

"What are you waiting for? Draw your sword." Syvis told me.

"What about you? Won't you use weapons?"

The only thing Syvis carries is a book that is at the height of her hip, which is supported by a kind of belt.

"Let us begin!" Syvis said without answering my question.

I don't know what happened to me in the ritual, but I finally realized that my strength increased. Holding the sword my mother gave me, I ran at Syvis, swinging my sword over and over again, but she dodged every attack with ease. How can she be so fast? At first, I was holding back, but since none of my attacks were hitting, I started to take it more seriously. I used some techniques my mother taught me, but Syvis kept dodging all my attacks.

"You were holding back!? Don't be stupid. You're in no position to do something like that." Syvis said while simultaneously dodging one of my attacks and hitting me with a series of blows I could see but not avoid.

How can her hits be so heavy? I thought she was a magician. Her blows made me fall to the ground in pain.

Syvis didn't give me time to recover because her attacks continued. I managed to dodge some but most connected. If this continues like this, I won't have a chance. Blood was already running from my nose. I couldn't find a way to fight back, so I decided to put distance between us so I could catch air and think about what I should do.

"Extending your distance against a mage is a pretty foolish idea." Syvis said, holding the book she was carrying

"W-What?"

Syvis extended her right arm with the book in her palm. The book began to glow a little, and the pages started to be flipped fast. Suddenly orbs of water came out at great speed towards me from the book. Thanks to my good reflexes, I managed to avoid the first one, which left a mark on the ground where it hit because of how strong the impact was.

I looked at the mark on the ground, shocked. That was water magic... I've never seen anything like it.

"Not bad!" Syvis said with a grimace. "But it's a fatal mistake to look away from your opponent."

When I returned my attention to Syvis, several of those orbs were coming my way. I managed to dodge a few to my surprise. As the combat continues, I begin to feel more agile and even manage to split some with my sword in two. But if I don't shorten the distance, I won't be able to attack, and soon I won't be able to continue at this pace.

I decided to get closer to attack Syvis while dodging the spheres, which became more difficult the closer I got as I had less time to react.

"You are a fool. It's silly to attack head-on." From the book came a flare of fire that I could not completely dodge, which damaged my arm.

I fell to the ground, and several orbs of water came in my direction without giving me the opportunity to dodge them. The only thing I could do was cover my body and head with my arms in preparation for the impacts.

I had my eyes closed, waiting for the blows that never came. I opened my eyes, and the water orbs were gone.

"What a low level. It's quite disappointing." Syvis said, putting away her book. "Go back to your place. Next will be the elf."

"M-Me? M-My name is Ryul." He said, terrified, knowing what awaited him from watching my match. His previous enthusiasm is gone.

"I'll decide if I learn your name after the fight, so don't waste my time and come."

"Y-YES!"

I returned to my place, Ryul passing by me. I didn't have a chance against her. Is this all I can do? I didn't want to look bad in front of Syvis.

"According to Harold's report, you are a Monk without any prior training. Let's see what you're capable of." Syvis said, pulling out his book once more.

Ryul looks nervous, trying to get on guard, but his lack of training is noticeable.

[Deadly Rush]

Ryul was relatively far away from Syvis, but after Ryul used his skill, he rushed towards Syvis with such incredible speed that it was hard to see him. However, he couldn't hit Syvis, and he passed beside her, making her hair flutter with the current of air that he creates as he passes by. Ryul couldn't stop himself and hit a wall at the back.

We were all amazed and confused by what happened. Even Syvis looked surprised and didn't know what to say. Ryul, on the other hand, was knocked **** by the hit against the wall.

Shalia and I ran to see if he was okay, but he didn't respond.

"Hey, are you okay?" Shalia says as she removed the debris from the wall that were above Ryul.

Ryul gradually regained consciousness. "Ouch... Darx!? What happened?"

"Are you okay? You smashed into the wall." I reply.

Ryul turned to look at the destroyed wall. "Did I do that? No wonder everything hurts."

"Unbelievable," Syvis exclaimed as she pulled out a potion from a bag that she carried at his side. "Give this to that fool." She said as she handed the potion to Shalia.

With Shalia's help, Ryul drank the potion, which healed him enough that he could move on his own.

Syvis approached and, seeing Ryul, said. "You have a long way to go if you want to be a good adventurer. You knocked yourself out" Then she turned to look at Shalia. "Given your set of skills, I can tell you have a more support focused class, so there is no point in having a match with you in your current state."

Shalia and Ryul looked a bit self-conscious about Syvis's words. My mood was not the best either, after my poor performance.

"Return to your places and let's continue. There should only be one more left." Syvis said, turning to see Leona, who hadn't moved from her place since we started.

I helped Ryul, who was still walking with difficulty. At the same time, Leona walked to the combat zone, where Syvis was waiting.

Leona drew her sword and put her shield in front of her. From her posture, I would say that she knows what she is doing. Her stance is good, and she looks focused.

"So you must be Leona. You caught my attention after seeing Harold's report. It's not very common to see a Spellsword." Syvis said as she took out her book.

"Spellsword? I am a Paladin." Leona replied.

"Do I really have to start from there? Spellsword is the term given to an adventurer capable of using magical and physical skills. All classes belong to one of the three categories—'physical' like the Monk, 'magical' like the healer, and the less common 'Spellsword' like in your case." Syvis then continued. "Paladin isn't a very common class. It is one of the few tank classes that are good against physical and magical attacks. I'm curious to see what you are capable of. Let's begin."

Leona started using a skill. [Iron Will]

As soon as Syvis started the fight, Leona used a skill that caused a brown aura to surround her body. I wonder what it is.

Leona charges at Syvis with her shield in front. Syvis, on the other hand, used the same spell of the water orbs that she used against me. The orbs crashed against her shield hard, but Leona held on well as she began to get closer to Syvis. When Leona was already at a close distance, she gave a vertical blow that Syvis dodged, jumping back, and at the same time, a kind of fire snake began to surround her body, which began to grow in size. Syvis threw the fire serpent at Leona. She covered her body behind the shield. It was a constant blaze coming from Syvis's book. The flames were so intense that they went around the shield forcing Leona to shrink her body to hide behind her large shield.

[Endure]

Leona again used another skill, but I don't know what it does.

The flames stopped and without hesitation Leona, with burn marks now, rushed towards Syvis. Syvis threw more water orbs at Leona while widening the distance, but Leona used another skill again.

[Blind Thrust]

I know that skill. It's the same one my mother uses. Provoke enemies to direct their attacks towards her. It puts them in a trance where they are **** to put their attention on her.

"The provoke of a tank is a great skill, but do you really think this is a good situation to use it?" Syvis said, extending her hand with the book in her palms, which began to take on a reddish color.

Syvis, after casting a spell, said. [Fire Swirl]

Fire began to surround Leona, which turned into a kind of tornado.

"Shit." Leona spoke, looking around covered by fire.

"Wait, isn't that too much? She's going to kill her." Ryul yelled.

Leona, with a **** tone, screams [Sentinel]

Another skill? I couldn't see what happened since Leona was surrounded by fire. Syvis then raised her book once more, and after reciting something that I did not understand, the fire disappeared.

It doesn't seem like the flames reached Leona, but she is kneeling drenched with sweat and breathing heavily. What happened?

"I didn't plan on completing the attack, and I just wanted to see your limits. You didn't need to use that skill." Syvis said, putting away her book.

That skill? I wonder what she means. I couldn't see what happened.

"Let's finish with this and..."

"I can still fight! I haven't lost!"

Syvis was about to say something, but Leona cut her off.

"Don't talk nonsense. At this point, you will most likely not even be able to stand up on your own. You still need a lot of training to be able to use that skill properly." Syvis replied.

Leona tried to stand up, but as Syvis said, she couldn't. Shalia rushed to her aid, helping her to stand up.

Syvis then addressed the group. "After this series of duels, I have an idea of all your's levels, and to be honest, I am quite disappointed. Each of you has a lot to learn, starting from the very basics. Regardless, I think you guys have potential, so it's worth the try." Syvis turned around and continued. "We'll take a one-hour break, and I'll see you in the library after that."

Syvis then walked away into the gardens.

"Are you okay?" Shalia asked Leona, who fell to the ground once more.

"I'm fine. Your help is not necessary." Leona replied, falling again.

Shalia used her healing magic on Leona, who improved after that. ''Sorry, my healing magic is not very good yet."

"I feel better, thank you. So it's okay." Leona replied, smiling a little bit.

I don't understand Leona's character. Most of the time, she is cold and unfriendly, but at times she has that kind of reaction. In the same way, she helped Ryul and me on the day of the ritual. Leona and Shalia left for the castle, leaving Ryul and me behind.

"Man, I'm a mess. Do you want to go get something to eat?" Ryul came over to ask me.

"Not at the moment. There is something I have to do."

"Okay, see you in a bit." Ryul reply.

Now that we have a little time, I would like to go to Syvis and ask her what she thinks of my awakening. Harold told me that she might know something. Although, to be honest, I also want to see if she remembers me, even though it doesn't seem like it.

I walked in the garden's direction, where I saw heading towards, but I could not see her anywhere. The gardens around the castle are very large, so it can be challenging to find someone. In the distance, there appears to be a greenhouse. I wonder if she's there.

I entered the greenhouse, which was quite large. The entire thing was made of glass except for the rear wall. There was a great variety of plants and flowers. It doesn't seem like there is anyone here. I toured the place a bit. I got distracted for a moment by seeing all the flora of this place. There are strange flowers and all kinds of smells.

In the back of the greenhouse, I heard a noise behind a door. Will it be Syvis? I knocked on the door, but no one answered. Seeing that it was not locked, I opened the door. I entered the room and inside was a messy room full of bottles and what appears to be potions on top of tables. Maybe I shouldn't be here. I was getting ready to leave the room when one of the room doors opened and...

I widened my eyes and took a long gulp of saliva when I saw who came out. Or rather, the way she came out.

Syvis came out of the room, wearing only a small towel...

"I-I..."
