Sylvia's Date (Part One)

“Put me down Sylvia” Jenny yelled from her position slumped over Sylvia's shoulder. “I told you that I don't need your help so let me go.”

“Nope. You may be willing to gamble on the challenge but I'm not going to let you take that chance.” Sylvia pressed the button for the master's suite and waited but the elevator didn't move. “Why isn't it moving?” Sylvia pressed the button again but still no movement. “Is it broken?”

“No the elevator isn't broken” Sally said suddenly appearing with them. “The problem is the dead weight your carrying around.”

“Hey. I'm not dead weight”

“She isn't dead weight” Sylvia countered. “And when I asked Nana earlier she said it was fine for me to bring Jenny along with me.”

“And that is true. You can bring her along on your date. But in case you have forgotten, people with negative VP aren't allowed to use the elevator. She'll have to take the stairs or ladder.”

“Oh well” Jenny said with a smile. “I'm grateful for your attempts to help me Sylvia but it just wasn't meant to be. Now if you'll just let me down I'll exit the elevator and you can be on your way.”

“Oh no. You are not getting out of this that easily” Sylvia declared as she exited the elevator. “We're taking the stairs and you are getting helped whether you like it or not.” Throwing open the door to the stairs she began to ascend the many floors of the hotel.

Jenny resumed her wiggling trying to get free of her friends grip. “You're seriously going to carry me up all these stairs? Even if you get me up there I have no intentions of doing anything to earn more VP so this is all pointless.”

“I'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Now stop struggling unless you want to get dropped down all these stairs.” At that threat Jenny stopped struggling as Sylvia continued their ascent.

Jessica closed the rule book as the two soaked in all the info they had learned. “So there wasn't anything in there explaining how your transformation got upgraded but it did mention that there was someplace in the entertainment disk that would have more answers.”

“Yeah we may need to visit there soon and see what else we can learn. Of course that's provided I don't have some absurd quota I have to meet tomorrow keeping me distracted. Ugh, I am not looking forward to tomorrow and finding out just how much more sensitive it could mean when it says a boost.”

“If it helps I'll try to hold myself back from now on to keep the quota lower. Maybe I'll look into some of those quests we can apparently get from NPCs.” Jessica giggled excitedly. “That's such an exciting feature. It makes it feel so much more game like.”

“You'll have to excuse me if I don't share your excitement. I can't imagine any task we get here is going to be very pleasant to accomplish.”

“Fair enough.” Jessica suddenly gasped like she had an epiphany. “I wonder if that's why Lydia was acting like a maid the other day. Do you think it was a quest?”

Candy's face took on a sour expression. “I'll bet.” Quickly she plastered a more happy expression onto her face. “Hey you hungry? How about we go get some dinner?”

“Sure, that sounds great” Jessica said helping Candy out of the Snorlax bean bag and to a standing position.

Gwen nearly spilled her soda she was laughing so hard. So as it turns out our all powerful host isn't so great with scary games. Sally had literally fallen out of her chair screaming as Freddy popped up and scared her. She had made it past the first four nights without too many problems but had hit a complete roadblock on night five thanks to Freddy.

“Damn it” the Sally in the TV said. “This stupid bear cheats. How am I supposed to keep up with Freddy while constantly having to check on Foxy? Please chat give me some hints.”

I'd say I can't believe she actually has fans but I have to admit there is a certain appeal to seeing someone who is a dead ringer for Junko cry and scream at a horror game. I wonder who has more subscribers, her or that Nikki girl? Then again, Sally seems pretty petty. If she finds out Nikki has more subscribers than her she may try to punish her for it. Gwen shoveled a handful of popcorn into her mouth as she watched Sally restart the night.

“There” Sylvia huffed. “We made it.” Finally arriving at the top floor Sylvia was breathing heavily from carrying Jenny up all those floors. As for Jenny she had ceased struggling half way to the top and instead opted for the strategy of going limp to increase her weight.

“Hooray” Jenny fake cheered sounding completely unenthused.

“Oh hush” Sylvia chided while pressing the doorbell. “You'll thank me for this later.”

As Bruce opened the door he was surprised by the sight that greeted him. I was not expecting this. I know it's not really them but there is something very exciting about the sight of Shantae carrying Risky Boots into my suite. “So this is a surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure of this offering you have brought me?”

“Ha ha” Jenny sarcastically laughed.

“Oh you know, I figured the three of us could hang out and have some fun like back at the store” Sylvia lied. “Jenny here was just being a bit stubborn about it so I had to be a bit forceful.”

“Okay. That sounds like her alright. So what did you have in mind for us to do?”

Sylvia looked around the room trying to think of a plan. As she laid eyes on the pool on the balcony outside she got an idea. “Well I could stand to cool off from my tiresome climb up to your suite so I was thinking we could all go for a dip in the pool.”

Bruce nodded his head at the suggestion. “That sounds fun but isn't there a problem with that suggestion. I have a suit up here and you've obviously got one but what about Jenny? Did you bring one for her?”

Sylvia's face stretched out into a mischievous smile that could rival the Grinch. “I was thinking we all just forgo the suits. Doesn't that sound fun?”
