Syd decided to make contact

Syd had his minions retreat and hide while he used his earth and plant magic along with his innate control of the dungeon to block any passages that might distract the four of them leading the intruders straight to him.
Unsurprisingly perhaps, the lack of opposition as the villagers and militia-man got deeper and deeper made them both nervous and hopeful, nervous that they were walking into a trap and hopeful that the dungeon had perhaps already been cleaned meaning it would be no threat for either them or their village.

It didn't take long for them to reach the final chamber where Syd was waiting in his human form (Naked save for a leaf covering his private parts as he didn't exactly have many clothing options available to him).

Syd opened his arms in a universally inviting gesture and greeted them "Welcome to my home my human friends !" But four of them only looked at him in confusion, Syd initially thought that perhaps they had trouble accepting a monster would be this hospitable but when one of the intruders asked his companions what language that was and all of them just shook their heads, he started to connect the dots, he had no actual grasp of the language of this world the only reason he was able to understand their conversations so far was that the ability of [God's Eye] was conveyed to him their surface thoughts, realizing his blunder he tried to figure some other way to communicate however seeing this hesitation as an opportunity the militia-man charged at him with his sword and Syd distracted as he was, failed to respond in time with his weaker spell-made body and got run by the sword of the invader causing the magic and his human form to collapse into a black goop which Syd used as cover to take root again.

Meanwhile, the three villagers started to chastise the swordsman about attacking the strange man since he looked friendly but the militia-man answered that this being had to be a monster and he was a hero for slaying it, One of the villagers (The one with [great villager] class) unimpressed rebuked him further, noting that the being felt holy and could very well be a heavenly beast but the self proclaimed hero waved away these concerns by saying that no agent of heven would ever speak such a vile language, then suddenly noticing the flower by his feet the millitia-man bend down to pick it and Syd had half a mind to melt his face in response however when the man mentioned how this beautiful flower was going to be an amazing gift for his fiancée back at the village Syd had a better idea, he was going to ntr the bitch that attacked him out of the blue and without remorse.

With a thought, he cut his body in half separating from his roots, allowing the man to bring him along.
