Chapter 22 by hambo hambo

What do you do?

Swipe Sally's wallet (and a few other things)

You know it's mean, but you've never been a fan of swordswomen, especially high-and-mighty noble ones (they tended to not get along too well with low-born thieves such as yourself).

You spring into action, swiping Sally's wallet (and her earrings while you're at it). You discover she had three copper left. Now she's got zero. You hide yourself behind a few nearby crates and let time resume.

"I... um... I... I... can't find it!" Sally says first in surprise, and then in growing panic. "It... it's gone! Somebody stole my wallet!"

Hilda tries to comfort her hyperventilating companion. She removes her gauntlet and reveals a lovely ruby ring on her finger that vanishes an instant later (yoink!). "Hey, hey, it's okay Sally. We'll get through this. I can still pawn my ring if we have to..."

You smile to yourself as you see Hilda's face go from concern for Sally to shock as she notices her now bare hand.

"Uh..." Hilda sputters. "S-Sally? Did I, uh, did I already sell my ring?"

"No..." Sally looks up at her mistress in confusion, and then notices both of Hilda's gauntlets disappear (first the one on her other hand, and then the one she had set down on the ground). "M-mistress..." Sally says as her eyes go wide.

Hilda looks down and gasps. "Oh gods..." Hilda reaches for her sword, only to discover it's gone, along with her scabbard, and her belt. "Oh gods!"

"M-mistress!" Sally nervously squeals as she suddenly realizes her cloak is missing. "What's happening? This isn't like last time!"

"I don't know!" Hilda yells as she frantically looks around, her cloak also vanishing, revealing her lovely metal armor to the world. "J-just run!"

The two increasingly panicked women beat feet (quite literally, as you've now stolen their boots and socks, forcing them to run barefoot) out of the alley and back towards one of the major streets.

You chuckle to yourself as you watch them scurry away.

"At least they're back on their feet!" You say with a smirk before tossing aside Hilda's and Sally's footwear.

Do you follow them?
