Chapter 12 by Yabusa Yabusa

Can you survive the night? Or does Drea get away some other way?

Survive the night

You didn't say much to Andrea after that. She occasionally tested her restraints, but she never left the couch, since she wouldn't get far crawling along the floor. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, she just made the day--and then night--stretch out as long as possible. Drea let the misery stew as much as she could, until she drifted off to sleep. As she slept on the couch, you sat in a nearby chair, watching late-night TV and drinking sodas to keep awake the whole time. You had to make sure that you wouldn't fall asleep, in case Andrea woke up and took any opportunity she could to get away. Even if she just had an hour left in her channeling, that's enough time to do something regrettable, and you couldn't give her even a minute.

The moment twenty-four hours had elapsed, the sleeping girl split, as purple magic flowed out of Tori's bound hand and left a sleeping Andrea laying atop her. You lucked out that she hadn't woken up yet, and you took this as an opportunity--you opened the door, opened the back seat of Tori's car, and then lifted the heavy-sleeping Andrea off of Tori, carrying her out to her car. With your ex-girlfriend safely contained in her car, you go into the house and lock all the doors. You had no intention of going outside today...

Tori, fortunately, was still asleep as well. You snipped the tape so it didn't bind her arms and legs anymore, but you didn't try to peel it off in case it hurt. Picking Tori up, you took her to your bedroom, laying her down on the bed and wrapping a blanket over the top of her, trying to make her comfortable. It was the best you could do...

You returned to the couch, and for almost the next hour, you tried to nap in the calm before the storm. Eventually the slamming on the door and the repeated rings on the doorbell told you that Andrea had awakened, but you weren't going to answer. She knocked for minutes before giving up. You thought it was over, until your phone started to ring, with constant buzzes from a barrage of text messages. Fortunately, turning off your phone was easy. For the grand finale, Andrea honked her horn multiple times, before eventually giving up and driving off. You didn't know if she was crying, yelling, mad or sad when she was on her own in this new world where she was newly single, but you didn't care.

All the noise eventually woke up Tori, who wandered out of the bedroom with the blanket wrapped tight around her. "I, uh, wish I could say this is the worst way I've woken up..."

Despite your **** drowsiness, you stumbled over to Tori and hugged her. "I'm so sorry, Tori, I didn't... I wouldn't have ever thought Drea was capable of, uh... I told her that it's over. She just snapped, I don't know what happened."

Tori leaned against you, but she didn't seem nearly as disturbed as she should have. "I don't remember anything but feelings, and she just had this rage in her... and whenever I've felt that in a channeling, it's never ended well. Usually my personality can at least subdue some of a channeling subject's more **** tendencies, but I can't say I'd ever had someone who specifically had a need to harm me before. But, it's definitely the darker side of channeling. It's, uh, something that if you can help me with, it might be worth preparing for the worst. Though, this isn't so bad, just a little marker and tape."

"Well..." you said, glancing at the guest room.

Tori quirked an eyebrow. "Well what?"

"I'm really sorry, Tori. Andrea went into the guest room before I could stop her--"

Before you could finish, Tori hurried to the guest bedroom, looking at everything she had brought with her, ruined to some degree. She covered her mouth with her hand and glanced back at you when you approached. "She really did it, didn't she... this was everything I had. I just..."

How does Tori respond to the aftermath?
