Surprisinly Well, with only Two Hiccups

Again and again, the monster lunged at Starfire, trying in vain to bite her, and every time she dodged out of its way while counterattacking with punches and starbolts. It seemed a simple beast, Kori thought, but not the same thing as easy. She could wear it out over time, but she didn't want to cause any more mindless destruction.

However, as Starfire pondered the best way to end this fight, several police cars arrived, coming to screeching halts just a few feet away from them. Almost immediately, the officers got out and started firing upon the tar-colored creature. Unfortunately, their bullets only served to enrage the beast, as they just bounced off its skin and it turned its attention towards them.

Starfire had to act fast; as soon as it started running towards the officers, she flew in the same direction and intercepted the beast. She managed to put it in a neck-lock, and as the beast thrashed about, dragged it into the air. Once she was far enough, Starfire managed to snap the monster's neck.

When she was sure it was dead, she descended and laid the beast's body on the ground. She sighed in relief and looked around, observing the mess it made. Luckily, it seemed she managed to kill it before anyone was hurt.

“Miss, I have to say, that was just incredible,” A voice to Kory's left said. She turned to face the woman speaking to her, an officer with black hair tied in a low ponytail and wearing sunglasses. “I mean, I don't think I can find the words, but thank you for your help, really, Miss?” She said.

“You're welcome,” Kori responded, standing up, “I was happened to be nearby. I am Koriand'r, and despite the present circumstances, it is good to meet you.” She then held her hand out, which the officer happily accepted.

“It's good to meet you too,” she replied, “it's not everyday you meet a beautiful naked angel.”

Oh, right, Kory thought. “Actually, if you could give a moment,-”

Suddenly, a horrible sizzling sound came beneath. Looking down, Kory and the officer saw the body of the creature dissolve before their eyes. Within a minute, nothing was left of it, save for some puzzling questions.

The officer looked up, clearly as confused as her, and asked, “Um, if you don't mind, maybe you stick around for a bit.”

Kory shook her head affirmatively, though she didn't have a clue herself.
