Talking With Officer Hawkes

As the police closed off the immediate area, the officer speaking to Kory led her to the side of a building. She took off her sunglasses, allowing her whole face to be visible. She smiled, saying “Okay, so if we could start from-”

“Donna?” Kory said, confused. Now that she see her face, she couldn't help but notice that the officer looked almost exactly like her friend & teammate Donna Troy.

On her end, the officer seemed a little put off. “I'm sorry, what?” she said.

“Oh, I'm sorry,” Kori quickly apologized, “it's just that you remind me of a friend of mine.”

“Okay,” the officer said hesitatingly, deciding to go with that for now. “So, I'm Lieutenant Dorothea Hawkes, and if we could just start from the top...”

Over the next minute or so, Kory gave a quick explanation on how she got to Crest-Cove. However, Officer Hawkes had said a few things that struck her as odd. “You said Key West was how far?,” she asked, “because I don't think that's anywhere near here.” Kory couldn't help but feel confused, as she was just there not too long ago. What she said next just proved to be even more confusing.

When Kory told her about the Titans, the superhero group she had been a part of for years, she only got a “Sorry, who?”

While it's true that they weren't as well-known as say, the Justice League, Kory is shocked that she hadn't at least heard of them, considering the adventures they've had by this point.

But, right now she had a somewhat more pressing matter. As Lieutenant Hawkes put away her notepad, Kory sighed and asked, “Now that I have explained myself, I hope you could put in a good word for me concerning my lack of clothes.”

Hawkes looked back at her, replying “Hm? Oh, right, you're still naked. I don't think you have to worry too much about that.”

She beckoned Kory a bit closer and whispered, “Technically speaking, Crest-Cove City doesn't have any laws against public nudity.”

“Wait, really?”

“Yeah, it's kind of an open secret around these parts. People like to come here for a bit, usually to work on their tans, or just to feel the breeze. Now, anything more than that, we gotta crack down on it. But just being naked is fine.”

“Oh, that's a bit of a relief.”

“I bet, plus you helped fight off a monster, so I'd say you're good. Through, if you need help finding a new outfit, I'm down for it.”

After hearing this, Kory pondered a bit about what to do next...
