Surprise Reunion

"Mommy, I want to go to the park!" Katie said enthusiastically.

"No, baby," Elizabeth said tiredly, pulling the laundry out of the car. "Not here. I'll take you this weekend."

"But Mommy!" Katie whined.

"Elizabeth?" Elizabeth heard Douglas's voice. She froze.

Truthfully, had Douglas not seen and heard Katie, he wouldn't have recognized her. Her cheap clothes were fighting a losing battle against Elizabeth's curves, and a very visible tramp stamp marred her lower back. The fast food was thickening Elizabeth, as well. Her hair was in tight braids, with a little flair of wavy hair at her temple, as Black women liked to do. His jaw dropped.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I umm .... live here now," Elizabeth said. "Look, I need to get inside with the kids. Don't forget the child support this weekend."

"Sure," Douglas said, dumbfounded. He'd uplifted Moses to enjoy the life he'd created. To take Elizabeth, a trophy wife, and keep her at that level. But Moses had turned her into a ... hood ho? What the fuck was he doing in Douglas's house now?
