Chapter 20 by brevdravis brevdravis

Nobody, Cassie, Nobody

Suprisingly Efficient Arrangement

"So, who exactly are we looking for here?" Xitlaly asked, her eyes flitting over the crowd as the subdued sound began to gain in volume again.

"That's her," Ketsueki pointed towards a Small Grey haired woman with a fur scarf under her jacket, sitting in a small stone booth. Well, sitting might be too inactive a word for what the girl was up to, since she was making out actively with a man who Sans and Xitlaly both remembered from the night before, and she had two grey tails which swished actively as the activity continued. "Aaand looks like she's making up for lost time with hubby."

"He's not her only husband," Sans eyes looked over the small woman as her body writhed against the man in the booth. Yes, there was a connection there, but there were others, and Sans could feel it. That same mark that she had come to recognize as belonging to Kesueki, she could sense, but there were other marks. Some similar, some familiar, but all seemed to work together to mask each other. Instead of one sense of belonging, this woman was governed by a complex set of rules, that... didn't even really seem to make sense as being rules at all.

"You all right, Sans?" Xitlaly noticed the strange look in Sans eyes as they approached the table.

"She's... looking at her is strange." Sans couldn't think of any other way to put it.

"Because I AM strange, sweetheart," The small woman's ear twitched, and Sans realized that the small grey furred ear atop her head had been cocked in their direction the whole time. "But you don't have to worry about me, I'm nobody. Cassie Nobody, Captain of the Aye Dee Kay."

"Hi, Nobody, I assume that you heard we want a ship," Ketsueki slid into the booth opposite the couple making out and directed her comment to the small man on the bottom. "You were supposed to deliver the message, not... oh wait, you're off right now, aren't you, Toshi?"

The small man nodded happily, as Nobody continued to sinuously move against him, her tails twitching rapidly.

"Yup, just need to know when you want to go," The woman replied, and her grey scarf twitched appreciatively. Xitlaly realized that what she had taken for a scarf was in fact a third tail, curled up under her elegantly embroidered vest and resting around her neck.

"Didn't he..." Ketsueki began before shaking her head, "No, of course he didn't... We need passage to Hia Muy. Fast and quiet."

"Quiet, huh? What's the Cargo?" Nobody sat up brightly, then spun on her backside so that she leaned back, bringing her feet up to rest against the stone table.

"Me, The Dryad, The Witch Girl, and No Questions asked." Ketsueki calmly replied.

"You know that I don't do business that way," Nobody replied. "Buuuut, seeing as it's my sweetie's boss, I'll make an exception. For a little consideration next time we do business. And twice the usual fee. Dingy's down below, and we can leave whenever you're ready."

"Wait, we just... we're leaving NOW?" Sans asked incredulously as the grey haired woman's ears twitched appreciatively.

"They call it organized crime for a reason, Greencheeks." Ketsueki smiled. "I actually like that one... whaddya think Doc Love?"

"Do you come up with nicknames for everybody?" Xitlaly asked as their grey haired contact strode from the booth and rapidly approached the bartender, who creaked in response to the proffered check with a ponderous motion. A few small coins changed hands, and the rapid twirl afterwords with an exaggerated bow towards the group indicated her readiness.
