Supergirl

Often depicted as the cousin of Superman Kara Zor-El made her first debut in 1959 Action Comics #252 wearing what amounts to a female variant of Superman’s traditional blue suit. The only difference was her choice of a short skirt rather than traditional trousers and blonde hair rather than Superman’s dark black hair.

An appearance that has continued for most of Supergirl’s run Kara Zor-El shares the traditional superpowers of her cousin such as super strength, invulnerability, flight, and heat vision while also possessing a weakness for Kryptonite, magic, and the red sun.

Appearing in countless comic books, Kara Zor-El made her first onscreen appearance in eponymous 1984 Film Supergirl starring Helen Slater.

Reappearing decades later in the Flash Kara Zor-El was depicted with short black hair and a dramatically different costume as portrayed by Sasha Calle.

Now with the most recent reboot the role has casted actress Milly Alcock to portray the Girl of Steel with no pictures currently available of the actress in the role.

In other media we of course can never forget Kara’s infamous portrayal in the CW Series Smallville as portrayed by Laura Vandervoort and later Melissa Benoist in Arrowverse Show Supergirl.

With countless variations and depictions, the character of Supergirl has her fair share of perils and troubles that she naturally escapes from such as falling in love with Lex Luthor under the guise of his own son or becoming a prisoner of Darkseid.

Regardless we can all agree Supergirl has countless adventures not shown on screen or in pages. The only question is what story shall we start?
