Sue Takes Charge of the Fantastic Four

Zombie Terrax the Tamer touched down in the middle of the Hudson River, lifted an entire small island in the air, and declared war on the living. The Fantastic Four appeared six minutes later. Minutes cost lives.

"Interesting," Reed said, bent over his instruments. "The cosmic radiation is in flux. This could be an entirely new form of..."

"Not now!" Sue Storm screamed, agitated at this analytical passivity when lives were on the line. "Ben! I need you to draw Terrax's fire. Johnny, build up for a nova blast and position yourself directly above him. I'm going to make a **** field to funnel it straight into him."

Reed Richards shut up. Ben zoomed in close, the Fantasticar driven to the limits of its design, swinging close like a jet fighter. Johnny flew high, his heat and light growing brighter and brighter as he built up his most powerful attack. Sue formed the funnel; an invisible cone with an opening just above the half-skeletized head of the former herald of Galactus.

The Fantasticar rocked as Terrax unleashed a blast of dark energy from a skeletal hand. Johnny was too bright to look at directly.

"Now!" Sue screamed.

White fire burst forth. Channeled along the Invisible Woman's funnel, it was focused from a torrent of flame into a laser hotter than the surface of a star. Terrax didn't even have time to scream as white plasma erupted from the crown of his head and burst out through every part of his disintegrating body. Sue struggled to control the forces her brother was putting out. She had held back nuclear explosions, but this was like power-washing your driveway with cosmic fire. As Terrax's body blackened and crumbled, she directed the tip of the funnel to destroy every fragment.

At some critical point, the floating island collapsed. Ben guided the smoking Fantasticar down. Reed stretched out to catch Johnny, the Human Torch having exhausted himself in the effort of using his ultimate attack. Sue used a **** field to lift herself out of the Fantasticar. The press had already arrived. Reed was examining the ashen remains of Terrax.

"Mrs. Richards? What happened here?" one journalist asked.

"Terrax the Tamer returned and announced his intention to destroy the living. The Fantastic Four immediately moved into action. We've faced Terrax before, and knew that he would make good on his threat. We were required to use lethal **** to remove his threat," she announced.

"Who was in charge of this operation?" the journalist said.

"I was," Sue crossed her arms over her chest. "This is my team, after all."
