Chapter 6 by Zeebop Zeebop

Does Sue Storm use her enhanced powers to avoid capture, or allow herself to be captured?

Sue Storm Does Not Allow Herself To Be Taken

The creature that reached through the wall was not a normal Sentinel. It was bigger, stronger, more powerful in every way. A Master Mold the size of a skyscraper.

The Invisible Woman's eyes narrowed as adrenaline flooded her system. The chemical triggered a hyperexpansion of consciousness—a sudden, keen awareness that went beyond sight. She did not see her own eyes go shiny black for a moment. Sue simply held up her hand—and the world went invisible.

Around her, everyone instinctively froze. None of them could see. None of them could be seen. Yet Sue Storm knew exactly where everyone and everything was. She stepped past the blind grope of the giant robot, and with a thought it began to come apart. Not explosively, but every bolt and nut removed, the gigantic Sentinel disassembled in an instant, utterly powerless to resist her. It's electronic voice unable even to scream as it seemed to explode into an assembly diagram of itself.

Until all that was left was the core of the thing, the computer and power systems, hanging suspended in mid-air.

As the world snapped back into visibility, Sue Storm felt a surge of triumph. Not just at the successful use of her expanded abilities, but at the sheer awe that the other women felt at this effortless display of power and precision.

"By the Faltine!" Clea swore.

"Goddess..." Thundra said, the Femizonian woman awestruck.

Julia Carpenter, Madame Web, said nothing. Her lips pursed tight. "I thought the plan was to let them capture you?"

"No plan survives contact with the enemy," Sue Storm replied. "I decided not to show weakness. Sage, can you access its systems?"

"Y-yes," the mutant said, blinking. She moved up and touched an exposed USB port with a fingertip. A heartbeat passed. Then another.

"I have a location," she said, with a frown, and rattled off a set of coordinates. Abigail Brand and Maria Hill looked at one another knowingly.

"Those are the coordinates for Doctor Dominicus' island," Hill said. "But it sank!"

"It sank with a couple billion dollars' worth of high-tech laboratory facilities and equipment on it," Brand said. "Maybe someone in the government didn't feel like just letting that go to waste."

"So we have a location," Sue Storm said. It felt natural, slipping into a leadership role. She had seen Reed do it so many times. Yet with her expanded powers came expanded confidence. "And a window of opportunity. Road trip, ladies."

What is the plan?
