Does Sue Storm start taking steroids?

Sue Storm Decides To Start Taking Steroids

Sue Storm thought about it.

She thought about it during her evening workout, and the shower afterward. Thought about it during her evening cool-down stretches, and while drinking the protein powder shake during dinner, and right before bed when she posed nude in the mirror. Even now, she could see the result of her hard work. Muscles bigger, more defined. Yet not She-Hulk level. Maybe never She-Hulk level. Even if Sue fully embraced the bodybuilder lifestyle, she knew she was limited by her age.

In her dreams, she saw herself in a body like Jennifer's. A body that she could bare with pride. Except Jen hadn't worked out for that body. Gamma-irradiated blood had done the heavy lifting, literally. Sue knew that the human Jennifer never started lifting until relatively late in her career, and even then, it was her gamma transformation that gave her that bodacious body, the adamantium-hard abs, the massive biceps and full breasts.

Sue awoke the next morning, sore and contemplative as she rose for her first workout of the day.

A little juice. Carefully managed. Real athletes did that kind of thing all the time, and Sue knew it. Even Olympic athletes took advantage of every legal option available. And Sue wasn't trying to compete with anyone. No contests, no sports. She just wanted this for herself. Plenty of women her age went in for botox, for **** to lose weight, for cosmetic surgery. How was this any different?

The Invisible Woman thought about when they'd put Franklin on ritalin. She had fretted over it, but in the end it had turned out to be the right choice. It helped him focus, and focus was what was needed given his powerset. She knew he couldn't remember, but some of the tantrums when he was young had threatened to fracture reality. That was better living through chemistry.

It was a decision that gnawed at Sue Storm for days. Not something she just leaped into blind. She did the research. The side effects, real and potentially permanent. Her voice could get deeper. Clitoris could grow. Lose hair on top, grow hair other places. Acne. All things she would have to watch out for. Manage.

Yet with a doctor monitoring her intake...with care...

She measured her biceps. Weighed herself. Looked over the log that showed how much she had been lifting, the numbers steadily creeping up, and then plateauing at 285 on the deadlift.

When Sue Storm arrived at Dr. Stone's office for the next appointment, she said simply:

"Alright. But we go slow."

Dr. Stone smiled.

"Of course. Let's talk dosage, when and where to inject, and how to quantify the results," she said.

There was no need for Moonstone to use her powers. That was the beauty of the thing. Sue Storm had convinced herself of this course of action. Dr. Stone was merely enabling her. Telling her they would go very slow at first, what to expect. When Sue Storm left, carrying a small packet of loaded needles, Dr. Stone allowed herself a small smile. Everything was going according to plan.

Does anyone notice Sue Storm taking the steroids?
