Sue Storm Alerts S.H.I.E.L.D.

"You're certain?" Maria Hill said. The brunette's lips were a thin line, gaze hard. Her office was perfectly insulated from the hum of the helicarrier's engines. As an officer, she was authorized a window, but Hill didn't trust windows, and kept her back to the bulkhead.

"I triple-checked S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers' files on her. I'm certain of it! Dr. Stone is actually Karla Sofen—Moonstone."

Sue Storm, dressed in her standard Fantastic Four uniform, leaned over Hill's desk. The S.H.I.E.L.D. commander glanced at the Invisible Woman's hands, then back at Sue's face. Hill's own hands were steepled in front of her.

"And you want to continue your sessions?" Maria raised an eyebrow. "We don't know what her game is. She might be trying to manipulate you somehow."

"That's why I need to continue," Sue insisted. "To find out what she wants—and who she's working with. That's real Stark tech. Not cheap. Somebody else is behind this. Someone that is bankrolling Moonstone's play."

Hill nodded.

"It's dangerous. I don't like the idea of what might happen if you get—compromised," Hill frowned. "And if this is going to work, she's going to have to think you are compromised. That requires more than just acting. S.H.I.E.L.D. telepaths should be able to protect your core personality, but your outer consciousness will need to succumb to whatever manipulation that Moonstone has planned for you. Are you willing to do that?"

"This is bigger than just me," Sue said. "If Moonstone and whoever is behind her is trying to suborn me, that affects my family—my kids. I'll do anything to protect them."

Hill nodded again. She seemed to chew the thought.

"Okay. Let's go talk to the Psionics Division. But Susan—if at any point your psychic protection is pierced, if you fail to report in for a debrief session, if you show any mental instability—I'm going to have to treat you as compromised. You could be looking at a long recovery in the Vault, with power inhibitors on and long talks with the headshrinkers." Hill warned.

"Don't worry, Maria," the Invisible Woman said with a smile. "I know what I'm doing!"
