Sue Storm's Breasts Are Sore, Sensitive, and Swollen!

The Invisible Woman's eyes met that of her reflection—and then navigated lower. She frowned as she stared at her chest. The nipples were stiff and swollen. Sue had attributed that to the cool air, but the more she looked the more she noticed that her "girls" weren't quite right. Sue had always been perfectly content with her breasts. At university, she'd enjoyed the modest, perky bust; not as big as some of the other girls, but also less prone to sagging. They had gotten bigger during her pregnancies, the blue veins in the pale mounds more prominent, and the nipples had darkened...but Sue knew women her age whose boobs were already hanging down to their midsection.

Except...her boobs looked bigger now. The skin around them seemed to be pulled forward. The areola, normally small as quarters and flat, now looked like puffy half-dollars, so that her nipples seemed even more prominent than normal. Gently, Sue reached up and touched the skin of her breasts—and winced in pain. The normally soft flesh felt rubbery and sore.

"What is happening to me?" Sue said aloud.

"Your breasts have increased in volume 9.89% since your previous measurement," H.E.R.B.I.E. said. "While breast size occasionally fluctuates due to weight gain/loss, or water retention related to your ovulation cycle, this increase exceeds all previous changes over this period of time."

Sue chewed on that. She wasn't against the idea of having bigger breasts, but she was more concerned about the why and how.

"Is it...is it cancer?" she said. "Do I need a mastectomy?"

"Scans do not indicate any cancerous masses at this time," the little robot chimed. "Breast growth is a result of changes at the genetic level, which prompts new tissue growth and changes in the menstrual cycle that affect hormone levels. Additional increase in breast volume is expected."

"How big?" Sue said, as she gently tugged at her nipples with both hands. She gasped aloud, and a wet dribble ran down her inner thigh. Her nipples had always been sensitive, but as Sue wobbled on her feet, she blinked in shock. It had felt like an electric current, straight to her brain...and the nipples were now sore and achey.

"Unclear. Considerable epigenetic factors are associated with maximum breast size, including body mass index, diet, pregnancy..."

"Well, at least I don't have to worry about that," Sue broke in. "But the bigger boobs are just a side effect, right? Do we have any idea what else Porkum's mutagens are doing to me?"

H.E.R.B.I.E. paused and hummed for a moment. Around her, Sue could hear the computers echo that hum as they processed her request. The heroine turned to the side and raised her arms. Her breasts seemed to jut torpedo-like from her chest, even without a bra. Sue Storm held her breath—and she could have sworn, as she stared at her nipples, that she could almost see them swell.
