Chapter 4 by Zeebop Zeebop

What does Sue say to Janet Van Dyne?

Sue Asks Where Janet Found The Photos

The Invisible Woman chewed over a moral dilemma. She didn't want to confirm that the photos were real, but she didn't want to lie to her friend either. Sue decided figuring out where the photos came from was what was important.

SSR: Where did you even find those!?

JVD: The dark web. There's a site where the really hardcore superheroine fans gather, share photos, data, etc.

SSR: And why are you there!?

JVD: Intelligence-gathering. Some of these guys are real sickos. Proto-stalkers. It's important to identify these guys before they show up outside somebody's house. Remember Jessica Jones? We heroines have to look out for each other.

The mention of Jessica Jones sent a pang through the Invisible Woman's heart. She slipped her shirt on and frowned as she remembered how the superheroine Jewel had slipped through the cracks. Nobody had checked on her. Nobody had even been aware of the ****, not until it was far too late. There were other heroines, too, who had been subject to terrible invasions of privacy, ****, and worse. That one Spider-Woman, that time Tigra was ambushed by the Hood, Big Bertha of the Great Lakes Avengers and that photographer for the fetish magazine...

Sue felt grateful that she had her family to support and protect her. Even if these photos got out, it wouldn't be the end of the world for her. Yet at the same time, the memory of Jessica Jones made Sue want to be more proactive. Or at least, to find out what else was out there on her...and the rest of the Fantastic Four.

SSR: I want to know how to get there. Poke around for myself.

JVD: Are you sure that's a good idea? Some of it can get pretty raunchy.

SSR: I need to figure out where these photos are coming from, Jan. What if they were of you?

JVD: Okay, okay. I'll email you directions. You'll need a special app. I got the one I'm using from Tony Stark. And they only use cryptocurrency.

SSR: Not a problem. Thanks Jan.

The blonde heroine sighed as she looked out the window of her bedroom. Out over New York, the city that never slept. She suddenly felt very tired. When she was a young woman, she could never have imagined this life for herself. Nor could she imagine a future where the internet was riddled with pornography. She was used to thinking of artifical intelligence in terms of the Vision and Ultron, not idiotic programs generating deepfakes of nude celebrities and **** porn. Yet this was the world she lived in...the real world...not some fantasy.

As she headed into the kitchen to prepare breakfast, Sue's phone pinged with Janet Van Dyne's email. For a while, the Invisible Woman lost herself in the easy routine of caring for her family. Later, when the kids were busy with school and games, Sue would have time to investigate this dark web site.

What does Sue Storm find on the dark web?
