Still, not that unknown of a place.

It's been quite a while since the last time you found yourself in this familiar, yet eerie darkness. Why eerie ? Because this time, you couldn't help but feel in danger in there, and that is why you understood that there was something more to this than what you could see. But you didn't have to wonder for long, since a voice definitely coming from a woman rose, from nowhere and everywhere at once.

"Well, human, there is definitely more to this place than you can see, but it is the first time a human getting taken by one of my illusions is not trying to find an escape, and I quite like it. Yet, it is not for you that I am here."

"You don't need to make me guess why you are here, Kitsune Goddess." Said Fuyu, even though said kitsune goddess wasn't talking to her. "I know what I did, and I am ready to face the consequences."

"Great." The goddess (?) answered. "You have been forbidden from using the power of the gods, and yet you did go against it. I am deeply annoyed by this."

"Wait a second..." You start, completely cutting off the kitsune, but you couldn't care less. "What's the problem here ? I mean, I can get that she did something bad, but it was to save lives, wouldn't it be... Less of a problem with that in mind ?"

You at least hoped that this would be something that'll help Fuyu, since it looked like she'll have to endure quite the punishment, and by the silence of the kitsune you were talking to, it looked like you managed to at least help her a bit...

"Is that it ?" The kitsune then ask, before adding, destroying the little confidence you had in your words. "You really seem to think that helping someone would be a good excuse to use such deadly spells, but you are completely wrong, human, and that is why I hate to deal with your kind. You think that your human logic applies to every species when it is not the case. Now, if you don't mind, I don't want to hear you anymore."

Why did it sound so polite and so rude at the same time ? But you felt like she wasn't wrong in the end, since it wasn't the first time that your logic hurt a wall, may it be because of strange habits of this world or others...

"Now, for you, Fuyu, since I know you didn't have the choice when facing your opponents, you will not have to face your own **** today." Continued the kitsune, her tone cold. "Instead, you'll have to face exile."

"Wh-" Started Fuyu, not even able to finish her question before adding another one. "Why would my punishment be so harsh ? No one even got killed !"

You tried to open your mouth, but it wouldn't even move an inch despite your best efforts. This didn't prevent you from struggling to do so, in vain. A struggle that the Kitsune Goddess noticed.

"Human, you are pitiful, trying to fight my powers in my domain, in my illusion ? At least you seem to have quite a will, but that isn't enough." She said, a very small amount of respect in her voice. "Hmm... You know what, I think I'll reward your struggle."

She then stopped to speak completly for a bit of time, leaving you wondering what kind of reward she was thinking about. Well, it seemed like she didn't want to let you think about it for too long, since she quickly added.

"Your reward... Is Fuyu. From now on, she will be under your command." She said, making both you and Fuyu widen your eyes.

Fuyu because of what she said, you because you saw a strange pink light appear over her head, before disappearing almost immediately.

"From now on Fuyu, you will obey every order of this human, without exception. But do not worry, as another kitsune will be sent to Nakemo to fulfill your past duties. Now go, you have until tomorrow to be gone from this village."

With that, the darkness faded, the illusion stopping, which let you see the shrine again, and quickly enough, Fuyu feel on her knees, hiding her face in her hands. There was no need for you to guess what she was doing, since you could hear her crying.
