Stick with your widow—plan

Nereus wandered the earth for days, searching for a suitable old widow to marry. He knew it was not the ideal solution, but he felt **** to break the curse and be able to sire children again. As he walked through a small village, he came across a small cottage on the outskirts. The smell of baking bread wafted through the air, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing as he remembered his own home on Mount Olympus.

He knocked on the door, and an elderly woman answered. Her hair was grey, and her wrinkles were deep, but there was a kindness in her eyes that Nereus couldn't help but be drawn to. He introduced himself, and they struck up a conversation. Her name was Eurydice, and she had been widowed for many years. She told Nereus of her life and her struggles, and he found himself truly listening and understanding her.

As the sun began to set, Nereus knew that he had found the woman he wanted to marry. He turned to Eurydice and asked her to be his wife. She looked at him with surprise but after a moment of consideration, she said yes. They married that night, in a small ceremony in the village square. Nereus felt a sense of peace as he held Eurydice's hand, but deep down, he knew that this marriage would not break the curse.

The next morning, Nereus woke up to find that Zeus had already caught wind of his actions. The king of the gods was furious, and he summoned Nereus to his chambers. Nereus knew that he had made a grave mistake, and he braced himself for the worst.

Zeus was disappointed and angry when Nereus appeared in front of him. He couldn't believe that Nereus had tried to trick him by marrying an old widow. He had expected more from Nereus, his own son.

"Nereus, you have let me down. You know that this curse will not be lifted by your actions. I trusted you, and you have betrayed me. And for that, you must be punished."

Nereus felt his heart sink as Zeus pronounced his sentence.

"You are hereby banished from Olympus. You will be stripped of your immortality and most powers. But you will only keep your beloved magical seed…if you can find a way to lift my curse. Until you manage to lift the curse you will walk the earth as a regular, infertile mortal man. You will be sent to live among mortals, where you will suffer the same fate as them. You will grow old and die, and your name will be forgotten."

Nereus felt tears prick at his eyes as he heard his father's words. He knew that he deserved this punishment, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of loss and regret.

"I'm sorry, Father," he whispered. Your consciousness slipped away as Zeus sapped your godly powers from you…your vision faded to darkness
